I don't entirely buy the "not enough international reach" excuse. IMO they didn't want two team sports (both Football) entirely dedicated to one gender - not to mention Wheelchair Rugby, which has 95% male athletes. So the less popular event had to go, which is sad for CP athletes of course.

With a great last quarter, wins the gold medal in women's Wheelchair Basketball against USA. Both teams have qualified for Tokyo.

Glad to see Timo achieving so much success after so little time defending Portugal - especially because she didn't have the opportunity she deserved in Brazil. No disrespect to Portela, but has she ever achieved something so great that her place in the national team is undisputed?

Men's Wheelchair Basketball semifinals (top 3 qualify for Tokyo): vs vs Women's Wheelchair Basketball semifinals (top 2 qualify for Tokyo): vs vs Most likely Canada and USA will qualify in both tournaments, with Argentina and Colombia fighting for the third spot in Men's.

Great. I have most of these channels, but honestly I only watch Sportv 2 and 3 (the main channel is for football only). In these two you can watch a lot of motor and Olympic sports. ESPN is mostly for "american sports" like american football, golf, hockey and basketball, which I don't really follow (sometimes I watch the surfing because of the brazilians). Fox Sports channels are the worst in my opinion, simply because they're mostly about football all day long.

Medal Standings after Day 5 In the last day of Athletics, Peru won its first gold medal here (also their first since 2007).

Brazil is very good at the Parapan American Games and tops the medal table since 2007, and we're also successful at the Paralympics (top 10 since 2008), so I expected this. Some USA top athletes skipped Swimming, mostly, but even so they're doing fine.

I think maybe this is a competition where already qualified athletes can reach the minimum qualification score for additional events, but as far as I'm concerned the only qualifying events are the World Championships and 2 stages of the World Cup.

Yes, in Table Tennis the following nations won quotas: +5 +3 +3 +2 +1 +1 I don't think Shooting is a qualifying event, though - which is sad since Brazil and USA are dominating the competition
