  1. Individual quotas for Rhythmic Gymnastics: 2 (+1): 2: 1:
  2. Same for me, but with the Oscars. Every year I watch all the nominated films and get excited, only for the ceremony to be the most boring 4 hours of the year Either way, there I am at 1am watching they announce the Best Picture winner, immediately regretting to stay this late as I have work the next day.
  3. People need to decide if the real villain is the jury vote or the public vote - and not just pick the one where their favourite entry did worse Let's all remember that last year some people were pissed that Ukraine got 400+ points from the televoting.
  4. In all these years have never seen Totallympics members happy about a winner I still remember the awful comments when Conchita won, for me one of the best song winners ever. Probably "Arcade" was the best well-received here in recent years?
  5. So apparently people here hate the Loreen song. For me it's the best song by far - most of the others are either forgettable or downright cringey.
  6. Oh, I thought I was the only one seriously underwhelmed by the songs this year (first semi was better, but nothing truly memorable).
  7. Paula Borgo (Volleyball). Playing for the national team, she won a silver at the 2019 Nations League.
  8. I have no idea. Just last week Brazilian Wrestling posted that we were qualified for the WW 68 category, but after the Americas championship they changed to the WW 50 category.
  9. Just as a heads up for anyone interested, current Olympic and world medalists Daniel Cargnin and Mayra Aguiar won't be participating.
  10. BRAZIL DENMARK 12 MEXICO 11 CHILE 10 SWEDEN 9 CROATIA 8 GREAT BRITAIN 7 NETHERLANDS 6 NEW ZEALAND 5 INDONESIA 4 FRANCE 3 CHINA 2 PORTUGAL 1 ¡Adiós! Obrigado @Cobi pela incrível organização e a todos que participaram dessa edição do TISC. Até a próxima!

  12. BRAZIL ¡Hola! Olá, pessoal! Aqui estão os votos do júri brasileiro: Hello, everyone! Here are the votes from the brazilian jury: CHILE 10 SWEDEN 9 CROATIA 8 GREAT BRITAIN 7 NETHERLANDS 6 NEW ZEALAND 5 INDONESIA 4 FRANCE 3 CHINA 2 PORTUGAL 1
  13. The fact that you can't win with a song not in english... unless you're from Europe
  14. My vacation this year maybe will be in Portugal and I hope to enjoy as many desserts as possible. All of them look delicious
  15. Got 17/23 correct picks this year, which is bad but not terrible. Really thought they would award Butler (biopic) and Blanchett (prestige drama), but I'm happy for Fraser and Yeoh too - although Blanchett's performance is one of the best of all time IMO. Really overestimated Elvis, predicting 3 wins when it won none, and underestimated The Whale (predicted none, won 2). Boring ceremony but good/aceptable wins overall.
  16. I would say Apollo 10½, Catherine Called Birdy, Cha Cha Real Smooth, Fire Island, Funny Pages, Three Months, Top Gun: Maverick and probably The Northman would complete the top 20 after those 10 + 2 documentaries. But of course there's much more as I try to watch as many movies as I can...
  17. If I was a Oscar voter, this would be my top 10 (alphabetic order): Aftersun Bones and All Close Decision to Leave Everything Everywhere All at Once Happening* Joyland Living Tár The Wonder Special Citation (Documentaries): All the Beauty and the Bloodshed The Territory *released in 2021, but watched after I did my top 10 list last year
  18. The Oscars are this sunday, so naturally here I am with my annual predictions post. Last year was very predictable, so much that I got 22/23 correct picks. This most certainly won't happen this year, as we finally have some exciting races across the board (Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress are very hard to predict). It's been some time we don't have a Best Picture winner that also wins 6 or more Oscars. This could happen this time if the Academy goes crazy for Everything Everywhere. Right now I'm predicting 6 wins, but I can see a scenario where it wins 8 (extremely optimistic) or just 4 awards. Hopefully we get some surprise wins cause last year ceremony was kinda boring ("slap" fiasco aside). Almost managed to watch all the 54 nominated movies (including shorts), except for Avatar: The Way of Water, which had only dubbed sessions at the nearby theaters (and so far isn't available on streaming/VOD). ["will win" is my prediction / "could win" is my alternate prediction / "should win" is my personal ranking from what I've watched / "shoud have been nominated" is a way to remember other notable work].
