what a situation lol...from one of the contenders to qualify via this Play-Offs we dropped to a total no chance... If UEFA will not cancel the Play-Offs is better to abandon and fofeit the match against Ireland to avoid some embarassing debacle
and our federation officially sent a letter to UEFA with a request of postpone the match against
arguing we are in a almost unsolvable situation after the new preventive measures in the country

New radical measures added after todays special crisis meeting to the already existing 14 days bans of all sports, cultural, social and religious events in the country
.
All Schools and international airports will be closed, compulsory quarantine for anyone coming from the risk area
All three international airports in the country will be closed, No single plane will be allowed to go or land at our 3 International Airports in Bratislava, Košice and Poprad.
Borders Checks will be reinstaled in place at border crossing points with
and 
with only the large border crossing points open, the smaller crossing borders will be closed. International transport will stop to and from the country except for supply.
National trains in the country will operate in holiday mode.
The crisis team has also decided on mandatory 14 days quarantine for anyone arriving in Slovakia from a risk area. Until now, quarantine has been mandatory only for travelers from Italy, China, Iran and South Korea.
From Monday morning all schools and school facilities (without exceptions) will be closed all over in the country. The country will also close all social and cultural facilities, bars, restaurants
, ski resorts and wellness centers and aquaparks.
The Operation of shopping centers will be limited, with only foodstuff, medicines and drugstores can be bought over the weekend.
Since this morning the country is under state of emergency.

The prime minister also threatened with possible fines (and speaking about amounts of 10 thousands of EUR) the Orthodox Church, which as the only one of all churches in the country refused to cancel religious meetings and masses ..Just a couple of minutes ago, they announced they will submit to the will of the legislators and all masses will be canceled for two weeks also in the orthodox church. Even the Islamic confederation in the country announced they will not organize the common fridays prays in Bratislava islamic centre (something like a action of the 6 muslims in the coutry)

Slovakia declared from tomorrow 06:00 AM the state of Emergency !
So far the official measures declared in the country during the previous days:
- 14 Days total ban of all sports (without exceptions), cultural and social events in the whole country (will be re-examined after the 14 days period and may be prolonged if necesarry)
- 14 Days complete ban of all religious events (Masses are banned, during funerals only the relatives are allowed, Weddings must be postponed, The restrictions not apply for Confessions)
- Ban of all flights to and from Italy.
- Every arriving person to Slovakia by plane must be tested at the airport. Random checks are also at the crossing borders with Austria, Hungary and Ukraine.

All peoples arriving from

must be immediatelly quarantined for 14 days
- Every person proved of violation of the quarantine is punishable by a fine of 1600 euros
- Nations offices (like labor office, Tax office etc...) are closed for peoples until further notice. people have to get things done by post.
- Majority of high schools, Colleges, Universities and some elementary schools are closed for 14 days (All Dormitories must be emptied, with only foreign students allowed to stay there)
The Prime minister also announced after declaring the state of Emergency that tomorrow during the schedulled crisis meeting he will suggest that All Schools in the country will immediatelly be closed provisionally for 14 days

Despite the crisis and very strict regulations in the country, a team of Slovak boxers flew to the London qualifying tournament
with
one big dream aka big goal aka big wish aka almost heavens miracle to interrupt the 24 years of droughts.
Slovakia competed as independent country at the Olympics since Atlanta 1996 and it was also the only time we had boxers (2 males) at Olympics...will we be so lucky to finally qualify someone... ?
Depending on the draw, on the judges, on the so needed luck hepfully we finally will..
Andrej "Bandi" Csemez in -75kg may be our biggest hope of this sport for the last 24 years...

Curious as to what happens with football - not so much for the spectators, as a lot a matches have -in football terms- very few spectators anyway :D+ I can easily imagine
could sue our league and ice hockey federation in court.
Your two clubs DVTK and MAC Budapest have paid really BIG money thanks to your government help to play two seasons in our league, now the league is canceled 3 rounds before hte end of the regular season + both clubs were well in way to qualify for the play-offs, especially in Miskolc the matches used to be sold out quite regullarly...

Balažová/Pištej are apparently officially qualified.
They are currently 7th in the olympic ranking, 2nd among the non-qualified countries, Since the Japan open is cancelled, there mathematically no chance now they will be overtaken by 5 pairs from the non-qualified countries anymore (6 pairs will qualify via ranking)
and secured the quotas too

The Slovak Ice Hockey Extraliga season 2019/20 has just been officially stopped and completely cancelled, we was 3 rounds before the end of the regular season and prior of one of the most followed sport event in the country the extraliga play-offs..now it´s all over...
No champion will be crowned this year...more info to come
Obciously I can understand ths decision, sad really sad but understandable, leaders of all clubs rejected the idea to finish the season without spectators, this has absolutely no sense in Slovakia. Maybe for freaking basketball or I don´t know handball which no one single dog in the country cares two shits about, would not be such problem but we are speaking here about the nations most popular sport...
economically, it would also be extremely harmful, but especially as everyone during the negotiations commented, playing in Slovakia the play-offa for the title and winning the title and celebrating title without spectators is simply unthinkable. total nonsense, this sport here is played for peoples..It better then to cancel the whole season...
