I've thought of a couple, will have it up by tomorrow at the latest. If you have any song suggestions PM them to me and I'll consider them.
That's fine, you choose the one you think is best.

You do have an entry ready, right?

Not sure this has been addressed before but I just found out Honduras has changed their flag to a turquoise shade of blue in January 2022, following the inauguration of Xiomara Castro.

From Wikipedia
Takács was born in Budapest and joined the Hungarian Army. By 1936, he was a world-class pistol shooter, but he was denied a place in the Hungarian shooting team for the 1936 Summer Olympics on the grounds that he was a sergeant, and only commissioned officers were allowed to compete. This prohibition was lifted in Hungary after the Berlin Games, and Takács had expectations of success at the 1940 Summer Olympics, scheduled to be held in Tokyo.
During army training in 1938, his right hand was badly injured when a faulty grenade exploded. Takács was determined to continue his shooting career, and switched to shooting with his left hand. He practiced in secret, surprising his countrymen when he won the Hungarian national pistol shooting championship in the spring of 1939. He also was a member of the Hungarian team that won the 1939 UIT World Shooting Championships in the event.
I thought switching hands was impressive which is why I voted for Takács in rapid fire pistol.

We agree here.
But in these polls, 1 per NOC or 2 per NOC in canoe slalom ind?
Imagine that all these champions are on the top of their game at the very same moment in time.
No need to overcomplicate polls due to NOC limitations in certain events, in my opinion.
I should clarify, I voted for Chanut and Gardner so there would be a full podium to begin with. The first two spots are clear, more or less.

F that noise, the Winter Olympics don't have enough events. There was a bunch of dead air over the past two weeks. Bring on random new speed skating races, new Nordic events, Telemark, ice climbing, cyclocross, men's and women's doubles *and* mixed four person curling, snow volleyball, cross country running, 3 on 3 hockey, ice cross downhill, snow football and whatever else we can invent.
Ireland might approve of wok racing.

Aerials should have at least ten events.
How does "Synchronised Aerials" sound? I can picture this.

* I hope Van der Poel's and Friedrich's double gold medal predictions don't count as two separate ones.
It does, so you may want to shrink it down to 5 events.
-
You can pick 5 athletes/teams across all sports.
Choose teams/athletes you think are the surest to win a gold medal by your knowledge.
Let's compare how many you got right at the end of the Olympic Games.
Please limit your picks to five so I can count them in!
Event 1 - Sport - Athlete/Team
Event 2 - Sport - Athlete/Team
Event 3 - Sport - Athlete/Team
Event 4 - Sport - Athlete/Team
Event 5 - Sport - Athlete/Team

Anyone who hasn't played in Season 3 interested in a run this weekend?
-
Oh right, the leftover presents.
#1 would have been a "Safety Lock", a safety net for the current question to use it on and not drop any points on a wrong answer.
#2 "+25%"; not a lifeline but adds 25% to the total winnings; anything between Pts. 0 and 1,250,000 as a result
#3 "+1,000"; same as above, just the fixed amount of 1,000 points (between Pts. 1,000 and 1,001,000 as a final result)
#5 "Reactivate"; any of the basic lifelines that was out of play could have been used a second time
-
Thanks also again for playing @OlympicIRL, it was very entertaining and it was you with a large portion of knowledge under pressure today. I guess I can consider you and the others who have played all seasons the "Big Five".
That was also the last episode for 2021. The plan is to keep Season 3 running for a bit longer in January for those who have not played before and would like a run.
Season 3 will be over by the end of January and there will be an Olympic break again.

I would have gone with Idaho if pushed. Montana was my gut instinct but I believe Idaho sounds like a good answer based on both pieces of advice now
I'll give you the three numbers here: 96%, 3% and 1%.
Of course the major part is in Wyoming.
3% are in Montana.
And you had some dang good experts today, they were absolutely right. 1% Idaho.
Pts. 500,000 To which state does about 1% of the 8,897 square kilometres
of the Yellowstone National Park area belong?
❆ A: Montana ❆ B: South Dakota ❆ C: Utah ❆ D: Idaho -
So in the end, would you have gone with your instinct of Montana or the advice that it was Idaho?
-
Next, I would like to hear @Olympian1010's advice on this question.
-
I understand.
First thing to do is to congratulate @OlympicIRL for a formidable run and to Pts. 250,000.
TOTAL WINNINGS ♦ P t s . 2 5 0 , 0 0 0 ♦
-
We'll hear what Olympian thinks about this later too.
Before you say "final answer" to anything, you do currently have a PB of 250,000, a large Christmas chunk right there.

Hmm, I am not sure about this one, initial gut instinct was Montana but not sure at all. Too bad @Olympian1010 isn't here when you need him
Yeah, only hckosice left. I made exceptions before when there was no one around but you have to resort to him.
-
We all remember it worked for mrv86 but a run out of luck and a wrong answer would cost you Pts. 218,000.
-
Your "other" Pts. 500,000 question. You know you can only consult with hckosice at this point.
Pts. 500,000 To which state does about 1% of the 8,897 square kilometres
of the Yellowstone National Park area belong?
❆ A: Montana ❆ B: South Dakota ❆ C: Utah ❆ D: Idaho -

I want to flip this question.... not a clue!
This looks like the perfect opportunity for a switch, unless you really know.
According to reports, Chris Houlihan won a Nintendo Power Magazine contest that would have him mentioned in a game. And it happened to be a rupee room in A Link to the Past.
Pts. 500,000 Where would you locate the so-called
"Chris Houlihan Room"?
❆ A: Final Fantasy IV ❆ B: Marathon Infinity ❆ C: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past ❆ D: Doom
