Wow thank you
I really learned something new here.
Just a question: doesn’t milliard exist ??
There used to be the word 'milliard' in the past in Britain but they adopted the US system of saying billion for 'thousand million' in the 1970s.
So not only has British English become so confusing due to many cultures' influence in the past but more recently to US customs as well.

Why is Quebec called Eastern Door and the North?

12th, 8th and 9th from the preliminary round make up the podium?
This sport has turned from set in stone to unpredictable.
Usually, China doesn't drop like that in judged sports but I don't follow artistic swimming.

Over in the men, Felix Auger-Alliassime is doing his best "poor man's Milos Raonic" impression with another early GS exit.
Another top 10 player nobody talks about keeps exiting early (Taylor Fritz).
3rd round is the highest he's reached this year in a Grand Slam tournament.

Hopefully Lacrosse won't get selected for the 2028 games. It doesn't develop around the world and there's only the same 4 teams with the same expected result.
Women's ice hockey has more rotation.

Well you could go for speed chess - that would make it faster
You could play it standing up - higher
And you could use weighted pieces ranging from 1Kg to 25Kg to make it stronger.
I think our German fencer friend at the head of the IOC could totally be persuaded of its merits.
If you want "stronger", there's also chess boxing - which might very well replace regular boxing. win-win

ATP is probably in love with Zverev. He also mysteriously gets easy GS draws so often.

Alasan Ann vs. Marc-André Bergeron
R1 1-9
R2 3-3
R3 3-1
How did Bergeron not win the match after Round 2 was also awarded to him and how can the match end 2-2 in favour of Ann?
-
Wait, Poland lost the first two matches but ended up as the group winner because everyone finished with 2 wins and 2 losses?

Almost an all-Chinese affair by now in the singles. Only Hina Hayata managed to kick out Wang Yidi 21-19 in a decider.

You never know what you get with Calderano. He managed to lose to Afanador in the first round.

Ya this gives me less than any confidence in the IOC’s understanding of esports. That games lineup is… yikes.
On the plus side, it's good to see they didn't include shooters like Call of Duty, Counter-Strike or Fortnite.

Women's Sabre seems unpredictable right now.
After last night, I wouldn't have guessed on Greece losing to Uzbekistan for example. Two good fencers aren't enough with Mpenou as the weak link in the team.

Who the hell is "dj Albertino"?
Update: apparently he was quite famous some years ago
Fun times with music television in the early 2000s, thanks to Gigi and Albertino with Super, in this case.

Dutch team doesn't play well against Malaysia. Too many technical mistakes. I expected a lot more of our young team. Hopefully their level will go up in the next match against New Zealand.
Australia made the best impression in the first matches. In my opinion biggest favourite for the title.
4-0
4-0
14-0
I'd say the level has increased.

Nice strategy, in their absence they could still claim they are the best African team.
Wish a Subsaharan team would have been the first to reach a semifinal. -

You never know with weightlifters, despite me liking to watch it.

Soccer is mostly boring but this game is one for the ages.
The more exciting rugby WC coming up next year.
Too bad it's not on the same scale of "importance" as football and with not as many nations participating.

South Korea with 3 golds which makes up for their subpar archery/shooting results.
