  1. Oh that show is gold Too bad the original 'judge' has moved to a commercial channel and isn't doing that one anymore, but in it's heydays that show gave so many awesome moments of neighbours nearly killing each other over dumb stuff like a tree being 1 meter too much to the right or someone's fence being 5cm on someone else's property
  2. When I'm in the northern and best part of Italy I just say Guten Morgen/Tag or something similar
  3. Good day being 'Bun di' in Romansh makes it already clear enough it's a Romance language by the way
  4. Although Italy is not one of the four countries recognizing it as an official minority language, apparently It's quite widespread (small numbers, but a good spread) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judaeo-Spanish
  5. Some college football bowl game highlights and obviously today is a big day again: alpine skiing in Lienz, alpine skiing in Bormio, the first stage (men and women) of the Tour de Ski and the beginning of the Four Hills Tournament Plus of course all six remaining 1/8th finals of the darts world championships And Biathlon auf Schalke And the women's 500m and 3000m and men's 1500m at the Dutch speed skating single distance championships Actually it's a pretty calm day, looking at the schedule, especially for a winter weekend day.
  6. European Portuguese sounds so incredibly weird and 'flat' to me, it might be because I've grown so used to Brazilian Portuguese I can't really distinguish Latin American Spanish versions, although I can definitely hear the difference with European Spanish, which to me sounds like the person talking has some sort of speech deficiency (no offense meant, it's just how it sounds to me)
  7. There s a Dutch TV show where two women are arguing about cold pancakes?
  8. Half the things people in Switzerland say are impossible to understand if they talk amongst themselves Been to the Berner Oberland (for the Adelboden World Cup races) and while I don't have much problems understanding German, that thing they spoke there was hard to understand (but also sounded cool)
  9. Ski jumping with horses?
  10. Four Hills Tournament starts tomorrow Please tell me we won't again have this nonsense of having copy-paste posts in both the World Cup thread (which it's a part of) and a separate Four Hills thread?
  11. I honestly have no idea, so many things I forget during a year Mathieu van der Poel's epic Amstel Gold Race win, Karsten Warholm's epic 400m hurdles, the epic men's shot put final at the world championships, the awesome battle against everything in the 50k race walk at the world championships with some smart athletes pacing themselves to a great finish, some fantastic races in several sports....and a 5k pursuit to never forget at the Brazilian Rollerski Circuit As every single year, there were boring and bad moments and absolutely thrilling and awesome moments. I prefer to remember the latter instead of drowning in sorrow, so voted for Excellent.
  12. Yeah no worries, that was meant for our American friend who used that term Thanks for the explanation!
  13. Oh, so not bullshit at all. Just taking advantage of the beginner's mistakes of the opponents
  14. Bullshit how?
  15. Wait, one of the Brazilians in the team sprint got busted too?
  16. And a big medal favourite.....according to Trinidadians after his insane world record in Cochabamba (basically in space), after which they all reacted incredibly angry when pointing out that his time there might not mean a whole lot
  17. Price vs Henderson, what a level so far
  18. Too bad, but Dobey really was the by far better player. Sherrock depended entirely on her finishes.
  19. That's the one, yep The thing about the 'real' world championships (allround) and the sprint one is that they used to be separate for ages, until recently ISU decided to put them together in the same week(end). Result: nobody has a chance to go for the rare and hard double anymore and nobody seems happy about it. This combined thing has four events (men's and women's allround and sprint), the single distance one has 16 nowadays I believe (500, 1000, 1500, 3000/5000, 5000/10000, team pursuit, team sprint, mass start).
  20. Sherrock is pretty poor in terms of her scoring, but absolutely killing Dobey on finishes, holy crap
  21. PDC World Championship, after Whitlock - King (rather mediocre) and a very good Durrant - Gurney it's now time for Fallon Sherrock to see if she can also kick out Chris Dobey.
  22. Instead of the weird speed skating combined allround + sprint world championships, why not have the single distance world championships? More events, makes more sense than ISU's dumb thing of putting two awesome, but non-related events together and so on.
  23. Yeah handball and water polo are two of the team sports one could do without, but then again, these contests are just for fun: if you're not into one or some, just don't participate. It's that easy Therefore: as many as the organizer wants to organize
  24. A basketball quarterback, you sure? About the Vuelta: a few days later there was something more serious than just some plants, after the finish the helicopter shots showed an appartment on fire, with flames shooting out of the windows
