  1. Well since kids aren't going to make any actual changes, that's something they can't do. What they can do is prepare for when today's kids are the political leaders. It's not at all ideal, or even good, but it's probably the best you've got.
  2. I have no doubt you know much, much more about the earlier years, I was talking about the current situation only One can like or not like it, that was a very impressive comeback by Lampic (who already had a huge comeback in the QF's earlier on) against one of the best sprinters of the past decade.
  3. Darts BDO World Championships 2020 London (ENG) - 4 January 2020 - 12 January 2020 Official Website
  4. Yeah the fuck is this, I'm trying to watch the darts
  5. Obviously if you don't follow a sport you don't get the great moments of said sport, that makes perfect sense. I don't get the best moments in karate because, well, I just don't care about karate
  6. I am not, that's not even anywhere close to what I said (or at least meant). I have liked every single edition I have participated in (very much so) and would enjoy it as much whenever it's held. Time of the year makes no difference for me, being an allround sports fan, since literally every weekend of the year has a whole bunch of stuff to follow.
  7. Sure, sure, coming back from way behind in the last 50 meters to still take the win...by someone who only had one previous World Cup win (in a rather weak stage in Pyeongchang)
  8. No it's not, at least in the long term. The generation of today will one day be the old generation in politics, and so on. Make it worth it.
  9. No, she had no point in that final. At all. That was Mrs Spotlights being outperformed in every way by someone younger and she very clearly could not handle the attention being on someone else instead of her, so she got it back with the bitch act of the decade in at least the world of tennis.
  10. One contest in one half of the year, another in the other half of the year. I honestly couldn't care less if one year that's in January and in another year in April.
  11. Indeed, only placing more and more oneliners on Twitter, more and more posts on forums everywhere instead of actually doing anything. Text only. Repeat again and again for more tweets and more posts about how 'now it's really gone too far!' and 'enough is enough!'.
  12. Yeah that's the thing with those lists: they make it seem like it's all bullshit, but somewhere in there, there actually are some true good things...even if it's only a few.
  13. We can make fun of it all we want though, so far this year's Tour de Ski has already provided probably the finish (at least in terms of sprint) of the season in cross-country skiing.
  14. I am well aware of that. Same thing when you google for 'best sports comebacks ever' and such, all you'll get is ESPN-like lists with a host of MLB/NBA/NFL (and one or two NHL) players nobody outside diehard fans of those sports has heard of outside the US
  15. Exactly, so there's no problem with a host deciding when his thread is opened. The fact there's even a discussion about this is honestly pathetic. Totallympics is not the IOC, putting down rules on each and every possible thing a host could decide.
  16. Which is why Messi and C Ronaldo would have a chance....purely because football is the most known sport in the world and they're the best players (of the past decade, that is)
  17. Most people know his name, not his figure - they'd have no clue what he looks like.
  18. Not a fan of the dodging drug tests and fucking up the greatest moments of other people's careers because you're an incredibly sore loser and attacking referees because you're an incredibly sore loser. Even less of a fan when pulling the racism card every single freaking time something doesn't work out.
  19. I get that, but do we really need to have such a strict enforcement of all these things? Come on, if the host wants to open it, let the host open it. These kind of tight things are the annoying parts of Totallympics.
  20. Most people outside the USA know who James is but have zero idea other than "he plays basketball".
  21. Yeah, by rather unsavory behavior in the case of one of them.
  22. If you feel a significant gap between those seasons, you don't follow enough sports, really
  23. It should be opened when the host wants to open it.
  24. The biggest part of the lost magic is the availability of information nowadays. It used to be awesome to follow the race with some obscure updates and some of the participants being gone for hours, wondering what on earth happened to them until suddenly they appeared out of the desert. It used to be sort of a 'mystery', following the race, that was cool. The few times I'm interested enough to watch, I don't generally do it on Eurosport anyway, but on Dutch RTL7 Or both, depending on what they're showing and what other plans I have
  25. Ah yeah, that problem I remember. On the other hand, their results pages are excellent, very clear and have nation codes instead of flags (so you can use Ctrl + F), a link is really more than enough instead of doing double work
