  1. Excellent run by 'Alamicron' of Paraguay.
  2. This and 100m freestyle prelims are some of my favourite things
  3. Curious to hear her in the events she follows a bit more closely. In hammer throw she mostly sounds like one of them Olympics.com or English Eurosport commentators who do 10 different sports but only know the PB's, SB's and random facts that are on their commentator papers
  4. This absolutely does!
  5. Anyone else noticing the pronounciation of the athletes' names by the lady doing the commentary on the WA YouTube stream? At least a third of the names isn't even remotely near to what it presumably should be, as in, Wrotynski being pronounced Wrotoroski or Comenentia being 'Comentina'
  6. The Irish federation has posted a tweet stating the event can be seen on BBC and YouTube, which suggests putting the VPN on Ireland should make it possible to watch the full YouTube streams
  7. I took a list of all countries and eliminated those that are listed here. The resulting countries might have access to the YouTube coverage then (probably not, but gotta try to find some way to watch the things I can't watch live, which will be most, and won't be shown on Dutch NOS, which is basically everything except for the night sessions): Looking at the VPN regions Norton offers, personally I've got some hope to be viewing 'from' Singapore, Romania or Ireland, which all aren't in the broadcast list.
  8. The sad thing is, a lot of fans (like people here) are equally sad about Iranian athletes being denied entry into the US as they/we are about Serbians being denied entry into Kosovo, but sadly we don't really have any influence on the situation... Politicians though...yeah. Never mind politicians.
  9. But endurance event or not, time is going to be a factor at some point. If two athletes reach the top in every single route in qualifying, semis and the final, they need to look at the time at some point. Why not just the final, so the best athlete of the final is the winner... This is kind of like the pursuit in biathlon, where the best athlete of the 'final' isn't necessarily the winner. That feels unfair. But alright, I'm not competing
  10. Can't have the Alpe without remembering this fantastically hilarious stage Especially Manuel Beltran's impossible acceleration at 3:10 is just superb.
  11. I'm watching the Chamonix lead finals at the moment, and by now I'm familiar with the sport and such (I've been watching every World Cup the past two years basically). One thing I still don't understand though: why is the tiebreaker in lead climbing finals the semi final result? If more than one athlete reach the top, shouldn't the result in the final itself be the number one decider? As in, if they get to the same hold (or top), why not just make the fastest ascent in the final count and only if that is equal too, go to the semi results? It just feels...odd...if you didn't win the semi, you can have the best final of everyone and top the route in no-time, but still not win if someone who was better in the semi tops the route as well with a few seconds to go.
  12. Tough choices today. French day, because 14 July, or Dutch day, because finish on the Dutch mountain?
  13. This match has the slowest working VAR ever.
  14. At least he has an injury as excuse
  15. I hope this ends better than the last time I saw a Danish rider of a Dutch team (this team, even) ride in the yellow jersey No nightly press releases and such please.
  16. Vingegaard's back is probably fine, like he said today
  17. Pogacar has such a useless team, it's his only chance to lose it...
  18. Crap, forgot. Went for D Caruso, but yeah This Lacets de Montvernier is truly a sight to behold
  19. George Bennett is out with a positive test. Positive test for Majka as well, but not 'positive enough' to be out, so he'll continue. Nice, I assume he'll be riding 50 meters behind the peloton at all times? Interestingly, before this Pogacar said that riders who test positive should be out no matter what. I guess that only counts for non-teammates
  20. Hadn't noticed it Sunday, but that is really quite something
  21. At the end of the season. So one more chance to see him run to the front quickly only to be DQ'ed because, well, running
  22. Interesting how the course designers somehow managed to avoid every single interesting climb in the area to come up with what's basically a hilly stage.
  23. So no Steven Gardiner, Francine Niyonsaba and Peres Jepchirchir...meh
  24. 1. Filippo Ganna (4) - 4 2. Fabio Jakobsen (1) - 5 3. Mads Pedersen (12) - 17 4. Peter Sagan (5) - 22 5. Mathieu van der Poel (81) - 103 6. Michael Matthews (2) - 105 7. Nairo Quintana (15) - 120 8. Thomas Pidcock (10) - 130 9. Aleksandr Vlasov (27) - 157 10. Tadej Pogacar
  25. Amsterdam was voted in 5th place by everyone within the borders of Amsterdam.
