  1. Since I'm 4th in the voting order, should I set an alarm for tomorrow morning or what?
  2. No way, there is way too much going on on a regular Sunday to be able to give much attention to TISC, and after an intense day like a Grand Final-day, immediately going straight to sleep and then work is just...meh
  3. As long as I know what time to post my votes tomorrow.... I'll be out for a bit after midday, but with voting position 4 (4! ) that should not be a problem I suppose.
  4. At least a happy reason for her! You know, timing....but yeah, things happen Svahn though
  5. This link should clear that up: https://www.government.nl/topics/c/coronavirus-covid-19/visiting-the-netherlands-from-abroad/mandatory-negative-test-results-and-declaration/rules-when-changing-planes Specifically this part: Just in case he would suddenly need a test for his stopover (which I doubt because of the information above), here you can see that one of the requirements is that it's not older than 48 hours before departure from, in this case, Brazil: https://www.government.nl/topics/coronavirus-covid-19/visiting-the-netherlands-from-abroad/mandatory-negative-test-results-and-declaration/information-on-the-test-result And considering he is going to take a test anyway, I would assume the stopover won't be a problem (mainly because a test is not required, the way I read it, but also because if it is, he will have what I assume is a valid one).
  6. Thanks. I did see there is an exception for athletes, the federation is working on an invitation from the event they're planning to compete it. Also, the federation is convinced that the quarantine thing simply means they can not leave Livigno (instead of their apartment), even when presented with the actual link to the Italian website saying "address"...they might be a bit too optimistic and refusing to look closely at the rules, but what else is new...
  7. A proof of vaccination being enough would be good, she got into the Netherlands with that last week, so it should be just as acceptable in another country. She'd be able to get the EU certificate with a bit more time, but one needs a European social security number to do so and that will arrive only in a week or two (we registered at city hall today, so it's in the process of being 'made'). It does seem that the main thing is the fact that she left Brazil on 2 November. Brazil is on 'List E' and there's a thing about having been in a List E country in the 14 days prior to entering Italy making things potentially problematic.
  8. I hope she breaks that record, although I highly doubt it's at all realistic We'll see when the main season gets underway though, it would be truly insane (and awesome!!) progress if she gets close to top-10 results
  9. To Italian users: could you help out in getting through the maze of Italy's entry restrictions? Bruna has a flight going from the Netherlands to Italy (to go to Livigno for training, and later in the month for cross-country competitions) on 15 November, she arrived from Brazil in the Netherlands on 3 November and now has a Dutch residence permit (if that matters). The Italian Ministry of Health's website is a bit of a maze for me, especially after getting used to the Dutch government having a website where one simply goes through a series of short questions (When are you coming, from where, and so on) and ends up with a list of exactly what is needed to enter the country. The rest of the team is coming Sunday, directly from Brazil, which might be even more problematic I think...no idea if they've even thought about that but I would be very unsurprised if they didn't.
  10. Obviously it's not necessarily wasting time, it really depends on the athlete and their respective programs. Plenty of athletes would benefit from more training, whereas others would benefit more from simply any form of racing rhythm, no matter the exact format of the race.
  11. Bit of a boring final race, but yeah, Larson absolutely destroyed the competition this year And it wouldn't be the tiny bit 'fake feeling' of NASCAR if the entire Championship 4 didn't finish in the top-4 Edit: I just see that Blaney passed Elliott in the end, wow.
  12. That does sound like an excellent change though Prison sentences simply for possessing a bit of weed is madness...especially when tobacco or alcohol is fine.
  13. Especially with these margins and in a field that's actually quite decent! Any idea why the men's results aren't there yet?
  14. Very nice, 8-minute report/interview with and about our very own Totallympian on a big Brazilian channel https://globoplay.globo.com/v/10016757/ It is in Portuguese, of course. Still, it also shows some things for which one doesn't really need the language skills. And if she makes it to the Olympics, together with Karen Chanloung of Thailand she'll probably be one of only two female cross-country skiers who prepared for the season exclusively on rollerskis, bikes and other non-snow things (since the athletes from Chile and Argentina have snow available during their winter)
  15. Olha aqui, @brunamoura no Link Vanguarda, é um video muito legal https://globoplay.globo.com/v/10016757/
  16. The Mallorca round has started. Apparently there's a Sprint League with two sprint events (sprint and keirin) and an Endurance League with two semi-sprint events (elimination race and scratch). Too bad there's not an Actual Endurance League. Eurosport is making a huge, huge show out of it though, with all kinds of stuff and explanations (even on the scratch, which is literally just "X laps, first to finish is the winner" ).
  17. She has apparently gotten confirmation that she'll be allowed to participate We're so happy for her, it's so great to see her coming to Europe again! Too bad we probably won't be able to meet up anywhere, but still, that's awesome!
  18. Oh well, one can only assume they knowingly threw away their Olympic hopes, so I'm sure they're not too sad about it (assuming it has been possible for them to receive a vaccine for months by now).
  19. One-on-one that's more like a tug'o'small'battle though
  20. Meanwhile in the Netherlands, a local 'snack bar' owner in the city of Goes has once again won in court and remains the sole owner of a Wendy's in the Benelux area. He has been fighting the American fast food chain Wendy's for many years, since they want to start their own restaurants in the Netherlands and Belgium like in many other countries, but a court has decided this guy and his joint have sole ownership of their name Pretty awesome to see some local shop (without any other branches or anything, it's just this one in this one place) beat out an American giant in court, for years Rightfully so, it'd be bullshit if he had to change his name just because some US giant comes marching in. Especially some US giant which has as good as no reputation in this part of the world, most people who have even heard of the name literally only know it because of this exact case, a majority of the rest knows it from some movie or show or something and a tiny minority from having been to the US
  21. Whole lot of things to mention from the past few days of races in São Carlos, with all kinds of stuff going on in the fight for the Chilean men's ticket for the Olympics (not sure if the DNF's and DNS's have something to do with it, but even without that it's being very close left and right), among other things. Bruna might have set a big step towards getting one of the two Brazilian women's tickets with this absolutely fantastic bit of qualifying yesterday. For some perspective: on the slow rollerskis they were using and the wet (!) road, anything in the low four minutes would have been very good. Her time would have been 8th out of 17 in the men's qualifying, she was faster (!) than 2018 Olympian Victor Santos - who is barely even one of the top-5 Brazilians anymore nowadays, but still! Plus today there was this result in the 5k freestyle, where Ceci Dominguez's result might have helped her to the Argentinian women's Olympic ticket by literally no more than half a second or so. As in, half a second more behind Bruna (winner) than she was now and she would have been the second Argentinian in the FIS points list, which is presumably the main criterium for Argentina in terms of choosing their Olympian. No confirmations or anything yet, but all of these tickets are very hard-fought and the fights are far from over (although possibly the Argentinian one might be, considering they're highly unlikely to improve their points on snow)!
  22. Nothing needs laser shooting anyway. If there's shooting combined with running, make it so that a miss is actually penalized and we don't get a situation where everyone just scrambled to get a billion shots off as fast as possible, because a few of them will be hits anyway.
  23. That would probably be both a little painful and a relieve. At least it'll avoid another debacle like that German whose name I forgot who went batshit crazy in Tokyo. Edit: even better if they're going to replace it with cycling
  24. Well damn, that makes me feel old. I remember she was my favourite athlete when she won her second junior world title...no idea that was already that long ago
