    He must be refering to the additional sports from Agenda 2020 that have been inaugurated with Tokyo 2020 right ? If so, this is only about news sports from new - recognised - federations. Or, it's something new entirelly, and then I'm out.

    I don't know. In their communication, they are still talking about the "seven winter sports" (here for exemple) (Curling, Skiing, Biathlon, Skating, Bosbsleigh & Skeleton, Luge and Ice hockey). Maybe, they did drop their retarded way of aknowlege "sports" and "disciplines". That would be a relief tbf. Still, I don't think a host can propose a new sport that exists within an allready olympic federation. If anything, only non olympic federations proposed new sports for Tokyo. Possibly, it's different for the winter olympics idk

    Heum... Neither Ski Flying nor Telemark are new sports, but would be new disciplines inside an allready existing sport (skiing). It's not up to the host to propose that, but up to FIS. Dog sled racing is not recognised by the IOC and can't be proposed. That leaves only Bandy and possibly ski orienteering (Orientering is a recognised sport, but I don't know if goes for only summer orienteering or to skii orienteering as well).

    Every country should do that tbh (even if it means a heavy shortened season). There are not many things less appealing than spending an evening in a heavy chlorine indoor swimming pool in the middle of winter. The guy who decided to move water polo from a summer sport to a winter one should be shot dead (I mean, he should be digged up, shot dead, then burried back)

    If anything: She started track cyciling in 2014 only, two years later she was a double junior world champion. I thaught you wanted to postpone this discussion ?

    She was not 100%, coming back from a shoulder injury. When fit, at the last euro championship in Berlin, she did beat Grabosh in the semi final...

    I mean that the french boxing association gave him only one suspensive year. (ie as it stands he could fight this year). A very lenient sanction that doesn't fit the french (world ?) anti doping code, and that most definitly be appealed, the code stating that at least one year (a non suspensive year that is) is mandatory in that case.

    Well, he is not the first one, neither the last one. Very dubious how the suspensive could not be lifted by the french antidoping agency. Only question, would it be before his next combat the 7th of april.

    What... 20 quotas and up to two by nation, that's crazy, stupid, the death of olympism, yada, yada. Anyway, the overall ranking won't be too much of use. By default, I don't really like extra qualification tournament when you allready have a ranking that could do the job.

    I fail to see the connection PS: XC still has more events than any other FIS/IBU discipline. EDIT/PS2: We could simply call moguls & aerials "freestyle skiing"

    So the sports that allready suffers from a lack of quotas, should also suffer from the absence of some of its best athletes when other sports can rack as many athletes as they want and exclude no one ? Non bis in idem Besides, in most cases (excluding the longer boats), we are talking about events with 20-25 athletes. Other sports (BMX, surfing, diving...) manages to qualifie more than one athlete per nation with a similar number of overall quotas.

    Yeah, why not "giving" the medals to the best athletes ? The shock, the horror !

    Do you guys believe we will see snowboarding and/or freestyle skiing with more than 10 events each at Beijing or later ? Remember, they introduced Big Air this time, but they dropped parallel slalom in the process. Maybe, 10 is the upper limit for these sports (and FIS might do not want to have any of these two fellows with more events than alpine skiing anyway)
