As we reach the end of the competitive categories, it's time for the Totallympics Stars Award, which honor our own members. Voted by their peers, these users have had a strong presence in our forum this year. Here, they are nominated for a variety of reasons, such as: organization of prediction contests, TISC hosting duties, discussions or sports info in our forum, and contributions to all Olympics qualification threads. As already stated, all members are valuable in making Totallympics the best sports forum on the internet. We salute you all, including those who are not listed. This year's Totallympics Stars Award honorees are:

@Swewi is competitive on the Swedish curling circuit. I believe they have played in the Olympic trials before.

@Vojthas (who hasn’t been active for a while ) competes in the Polish club league for curling.

@John Foyne won a medal in American Football at The World Games 2017. He’s active in flag football at present (I believe).

@IoNuTzZ is/was a competitive 400m runner I believe (not sure about the level).

There may be a few more people active at the national/club level, but I’m not sure. @Agger @heywoodu have both done half marathons in the past if memory serves. @Josh is a swimmer, but I don’t have any idea about the level (I’d assume local/youth).

Today was pulled the very last ever cart with brown coal in main coal mine.  https://spectator.sme.sk/c/23259294/news-digest-final-coal-mining-cart-pulled-from-novaky-mine.html

The last coal-fired power plant in the whole country, will be definitely shut down early next year.

Qualification - Women's football and a Danish fencer

Medal - Malene Kejlstrup in BMX or either women's singles or doubles in badminton

Hey folks. I will sadly most likely not be able to vote. Haven't had the time for a single full hear-through yet (I have heard about 2/3 of the songs at this point) and I will most likely not find the time tomorrow either.

Go Go Berlin - "Castles Made of Sand"

This year's representative from Denmark, who will have the honor of representing Denmark for the TOSIC 2023, is the band Go Go Berlin with their song "Castles Made of Sand". Go Go Berlin is a Danish rock band established in 2010 in Silkeborg, Denmark. "Castles Made of Sand" is from their debut album "New Gold" from 2013. The song has a very classical rock sound that reminiscences the sound from the classic rock era of the 70's but also bring a more modern sound that combined fits well together.

    Enjoy!

Considering how poeple are being banned for harmless jokes while holocaust deniers, neo-nazis and ultra-MAGAs are thriving it's not much of a surprise!
    But I like the response

Well. You barely have a threshold while Slovakia's is at a rather high 5%. Eventhough it's good news that Republika didn't make it that's too high for my opinion. Almost 1/6 of all votes were "wasted" on parties who weren't elected.

So, the official results of the 2023 parliamentary elections in Slovakia.

7 Parties made it to the parliament.

Sadly it was Smer-SD who won and with 42 seats are pretty safe to form the coalition with their twin-party Hlas-SD (Voice-Social Democracy) which are basically completely composed of former members of Smer, so yeah that is for that, and with the 10 seats of the SNS (Slovak National Party) are set to form a more than 75 seats required majority...

PS-Progresívne Slovensko (Progressive Slovakia) and SAS (Freedom and Solidarity) the two Liberal parties will be only in the opposition.. The remaining 2 parties are OĽANO (previous elections winner and previous PM anti-corruption party) and KDH (Christian Democratic Party)

As already mentioned, the only positive news of the night is the fail of the far-right Republika, missing the parliament (THANKS GOD ONCE AGAIN FOR THAT), the other most noticeable info is that minority will not be represented for the second time in the parliament in a row as their Aliancia-Szovetseg party failed to make the parliament as well.

Seats distribution (Parliament consist of 150 deputees, the majority is 76, as you see Smer, Hlas and nationalists from SNS will make it)

Map of shows that the rural areas was the deciding factor this time, as Progressive Slovakia won only in the metropoles of Bratislava and my Košice

Interesting is that from the almost 60000 votes coming from Slovaks living abroad, Progresívne Slovensko obliterated the competition completely, sadly Slovaks living in the country seems dumber than our compatriots living abroad

The only positive news is Republika is out of the parliament with 4.88 % and their predecessors the ultra neo-nazi gang bang around Kotleba get even astonishing 0.88 % I could not stop laugh one good thing tonight, Finally after 8 long years of stench in our parliament came the time to say them adios and fuck off forever
