  1. on page 3: "One (1) male and one (1) female Tripartite Commission Invitation Place are made available to eligible NOCs at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. The selected athletes shall meet the required technical level and the eligibility criteria defined under section C of this document. In addition to that, the athletes must participate in the IFSC Combined World Championships."
  2. Also, she sued this guy for sexual assault and then took him back as training assistant and masseur? And while she was massaged by a guy who previously sexually assaulted her she fell asleep and didn't noticed the injection. And the article says he was also tasked to prepare her meals...as dcro said above it'd had been much easier to put something in her food than injecting her with EPO.
  3. source? Qualification document updated on 22 November still says that they must participate in the WCH.
  4. Cornu had no chance after his bad bouldering and his last place in lead helped Mawem a bit (although in the end it didn't make any difference).
  5. The Chinese should have done like the French yesterday, even if in the end they didn't need it
  6. Finally the full Olympic rankings also available on the FIE site: https://tokyo2020.fie.org/ranks#tab-table
  7. Qualification tournament is on Thursday: https://info.ianseo.net/
  8. this is now confirmed by the draw procedures: http://www.fiba.basketball/news/draw-procedures-for-the-fiba-olympic-qualifying-tournaments-2020
  9. No announcements or explanations for this change by FIBA? Great transparency as always.
  10. The difference is that if you randomly pick one of the thousands of Russian athletes, he/she is still way more likely to be innocent than anyone who, in an individual sport where you are not forced to join any team to compete at the highest level, chose to enter in a small (15-20 people) team whose management is known to be involved in doping practices.

  12. With Verwijlen 14th currently holding the European quota and Tulen 17th, I found out that the Dutch NOC requirement to not refuse a quota (earned through ranking or the qualification tournament) this time is to be in Top 14 of the ranking (max. 3 fencers per country) as of April 2020...totally insane in an event where almost everyone who qualify has a realistic chance to win a medal.
  13. Indians are in the QT so I guess they are eligible for quotas? But it's better to wait for the tournament, there are still a lot more countries "in the hunt"
  14. Rule change...and apparently the Japanese sued IFSC because they confirmed their 2 quota places from the WCH but they want to be able to qualify more climbers and then choose 2 among them: "The Japanese Mountains and Sports Climbing Association’s (JMSCA) original interpretation of the IFSC rules would allow them to essentially qualify their athletes for the Olympics at all three Olympic qualifying event. By their interpretation, they would have a pool of five athletes per gender (two from the World Championships, two from Toulouse and one from the Asian Championships) to choose from. If they named one athlete per gender (Tomoa Narasaki and Akiyo Noguchi) from the World Championships as their Olympic picks, then they essentially protected their host country spot until the end of the selection process. However, because the JMSCA named two athletes per gender for the Olympics following the World Championships (Narasaki and Kai Harada and Noguchi and Miho Nonaka), the IFSC is saying that Japan has filled their quota, used their host country spot, and competing at other Olympic qualifying events is pointless." (https://www.gymclimber.com/ifsc-sued-by-japanese-climbing-federation-and-athlete-invitations-frozen/) This is insane from the Japanese federation honestly, they should have refused one quota and kept the host quota which was the only one given to the NOC rather than the athlete.
  15. I think the quota is given to the next best ranked climber.
  16. CONFIRMED QUALIFIED ATHLETES As of 04.11.2019 WOMEN MEN 1 GARNBRET Janja SLO 1 NARASAKI Tomoa JPN 2 NOGUCHI Akiyo JPN 2 SCHUBERT Jakob AUT 3 COXSEY Shauna GBR 3 KHAIBULLIN Rishat KAZ 4 MIROSLAW Aleksandra POL 4 HARADA Kai JPN 5 NONAKA Miho JPN 5 MAWEM Mickael FRA 6 KLINGLER Petra SUI 6 MEGOS Alexander GER 7 RABOUTOU Brooke USA 7 FOSSALI Ludovico ITA 8 PILZ Jessica AUT 8 MCCOLL Sean CAN https://www.ifsc-climbing.org/index.php/world-competition/olympic-games and the starters for the qualifier in Toulouse: https://www.ifsc-climbing.org/index.php/world-competition/calendar#!type=starters&comp=8322 So apparently Japan is allowed to send climbers even if they can't qualify
  17. + Black people, brown people, immigrants. And Germans.
  18. But then you always fall in the trap and reply as they want so their provocations get overlooked
  19. which newcomers? There's barely any newcomer in a pre-olympic year with qualifications in full swing.
  20. For me yes, it would be better, forcing judges to focus on counting punches, while now the other criteria like "controlling the bout" can be interpreted differently by each judge based on their personal preference (even if they are competent and not corrupted).
  21. Sadly they did not change the scoring criteria and this 10-9 system is not objective enough so there's going to be a lot of alleged scandals...but showing the score at the end of each round is still better than not showing anything at all, and choosing to play differently depending on the current score is a part of every time based sport.
  22. Probably a translation mistake caused by the fact that in Norwegian language there is no difference between "is part of the national team" and "has been diagnosed with asthma"...
  23. The maximum of 3 biathletes among the top 10 is only for the first stage (and then you can switch in more of them)?
  24. FIBA regulations say that in at least one tournament there must be two teams from a continent to respect the universality principle. But they also say that host teams are chosen after the draw so...
