  3. no, she's currently 58th in the OQR...no chance for her to climb up so many positions in the standings... her only shot at the Olympics is the global tournament in Paris next May, as it's a 1-day shot with 3 spots up for grabs for all who doesn't make it through the OQR (or the continental/host Nation places)... basically, it's a true world championship, where the 3 medallists book their ticket to Tokyo 2020...

  7. and here ends the Italian party in the Alpine disciplines...
  8. maybe it was some TV network asking for that?
  9. updated at the end of today's tournament...
  10. the world ranking after the next Continental Championships will be used to determine the team events' brackets of the OGs... the individual events also will be drawn according to that, but there will be a draw 2 places by 2 (no.1 at the top, no.2 at the bottom, no.3 and 4 drawn one at the top and one at the bottom and so on for 5 & 6, 7 & 8...)
  11. Women's Individual Foil (Katowice, POL) Final Results Gold: Inna Deriglazova Silver: Camilla Mancini Bronze: Ysaora Thibus & Lee Kiefer Semifinals: Mancini b. Thibus 15-8 Deriglazova b. Kiefer 15-13 Gold Medal Match: Deriglazova b. Mancini 15-11 Here is the Full Final Ranking (and Results) from Today's competition: https://fie.org/competitions/2020/127 Semifinals & Final

  13. men's epee, Olympic qualification update before today's finals are completed... 1. 319/331 2. 238/242 3. 224/228 4. 221/223 5./6. 200/202 7./6./5. 193/205 6./7. 192/194 8. 182/183 9. 180 10. 160/161 11. 158/160 12. 131 13. 130 14. 127 15. 113/114 16. 108/109 17. 106/107 18. 102/103 France are locked in first place, no matter what happens later today... Switzerland keep their second place and Italy improve by 1 position in the ranking, climbing up to the 3rd provisional rank... Ukraine, despite a down day, are still 4th...and they even increase their margin over 5th place, as South Korea had a real nightmare of a day and scored only 8 points (17th place today), falling down to 9th in the OQR... the 5th place now is up for grabs, with China and Hungary fighting for it, depending on the outcome of today's finals (Hungary are definitely today's gran winners, reaching the gold medal match and closing down on the top 4 positions of the OQR)... Russia could still be either 6th or 7th at the end of the day...but it looks that they are fading in the last exits and they are likely going to lose also their virtual qualifying spot in the European Continental race... Japan are 8th and lost some points to China for the Asian Continental spot, Korea, as written above, now are down to 9th and it seems that they have almost definitively compromised their chances to earn a team spot at the next Olympic Games... USA and Egypt today weren't that impressive, but with their average placing still managed to lock their position within the top 16 of the OQR, therefore they are closer to the qualification to the Olympics through their respective Continental spot...

  19. it's called "globalization"...people moving around the world and "contaminating" culture, habits and genetics of the places where they travel...
  20. well, maybe that's true in some cases, but when they denied FIL and St.Moritz Track to use their always in place streaming service to integrate the OBS pictures for what concerns the Bob/Skeleton/Luge events, they did show their real nature and their real lack of interest in making the event as much "global" as they could... add this to such a poor opening ceremony, the super-G course running less than a minute race for the girls (I can't imagine what the boys are gonna do...45 secs race?)... to me, those Games are already over...too many more user-friendly (and important on an overall scale) events to follow...here's just not worth the effort...
  21. Switzerland in women's Super-G
  22. they still are, but at the same time they are a disfunctional group of players (rather than "a team"), some of them also have disciplinary problems... sometimes they can perform at the top level despite that, sometimes they just destroy themselves with those troubles...
  23. disaster for Bulgaria... what a wasted chance for them!
  24. Ski Mountaineering should give the Host Nation a big boost... on paper, there's no way they're going to miss out the double Gold & Silver in both races, especially among the girls... just to make it clear, the entry list has been published according to the last world champs' results and world rankings...
  25. p.s. it's Sandro Viletta, not Villeta... p.p.s. just seen the Olympic Channel broadcasting schedule...I can't believe that not a single second of Cross-Country Skiing and Biathlon (or Speedskating) are going to be broadcasted... it's only Alpine Skiing (not even all the events, for instance tomorrow's Super-G for both boys and girls are not in that list), Curling, Figure Skating, Hockey and a few Freestyle/Snowboard events...the other disciplines basically don't exist for the Olympic Channel (at least, for what I can see here from Italy)...
