  1. Men's Team Sabre (Warsaw, POL) Final Results Gold: France Silver: South Korea Bronze: Germany Semifinals: South Korea b. Germany 45-34 France b. Italy 45-41 Bronze Medal Match: Germany b. Italy 45-38 Gold Medal Match: France b. South Korea 45-43 Here is the Full Final Ranking (and Results) from Today's competition: http://www.mask-sport.com/2020/2020-02-21-23/FTEvent26214401.htm
  2. France won 45-42
  3. up... now we're down to the last chance... Poland need to win their 3rd place match vs France to earn their spot to the Olympics, otherwise it would be Hungary to start the party...
  4. in the men's team foil event, Hong Kong defeated South Korea in the quarterfinals, therefore they are mathematically qualified to the Olympic Games... South Korea now have to rely on the Russians not to earn too many points (QF's matchup RUS vs ITA is not over yet, but the Russians were 35-29 ahead after 7 assaults out of 9)...
  5. ops... obviously, you're right... I don't know why, but I was thinking the opposite of what the situation actually is... by the way, in Egypt we have a quarterfinal between KOR and HKG, which is basically a direct match up for the Asian spot (if one of the 2 can't make the top 4 overall, which however is highly possible...and in that case, they'd both qualify)... it's probably down to a possible ITA vs RUS match up in the quarterfinals, should the Russians win, they would still have a remote chance to go further and steal a top 4 place, which would kill the hopes of the loser of the KOR vs HKG matchup...
  6. they don't stand a chance to be 5th, however...RUS would destroy them even with their C team... and if POL beat USA, then they don't hace to look for what the Hungarians do...
  7. no, POL are 3rd and HUN are 5th, they are tied in the OQR...and POL have the tie-breaker (they both have a "25" as discarded score, but POL have a better "top score", 56 pts at the world champs against 48 pts at the same event by HUN)... so, POL need HUN to end up 6th or worse (if they are 3rd)...
  8. I don't know...the US girls are not unbeatable...
  9. yes, if POL are 3rd, they need HUN to end up in 6th place (or worse)... meanwhile if POL make the final, they qualify no matter what's the Hungarian placement... *fixed from the previous version with wrong counting...
  10. Women's Team Foil (Kazan, RUS) Final Results Gold: Italy Silver: United States Bronze: France Semifinals: USA b. Poland 45-36 Italy b. France 45-28 Bronze Medal Match: France b. Poland 45-41 Gold Medal Match: Italy b. USA 45-27 Here is the Full Final Ranking (and Results) from Today's competition: http://www.fencingonline.ru//en/classement/8/?id_comp=109&mode=final
  11. wow! what a strong effort by Poland!!! I didn't expect them to comeback once they were back 2/3 hits in the last assault...but they did it and now they can still steal the Olympic spot from Hungary... placement matches now will be decisive, as POL need to make up 9 points to overtake HUN...
  12. live right now, here:
  13. POL vs RUS 32-32 after 8 assaults... talking of women's foil, of course...
  14. Poland are really trying hard against the Russians... Hungary lost badly against ITA, now it's all in the Polish hands...they desperately need to win vs RUS to keep their hope alive...
  15. gone... now it's also mathematical... Egypt are the 7th team qualified for the women's team foil event of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games... meanwhile Poland and Hungary are still fighting for the European spot, with Hungary heavily favourite to take it (POL are facing RUS in the quarterfinals, HUN are facing ITA...if both are eliminated at this stage, which is highly likely, HUN are mathematically qualified to the OG)...
  16. 2020 Grand Slam (Düsseldorf, GER) Day #2 Recap Japan's domination was expected...and Japan's domination actually happened... Today the Judo players from the Country of the Rising Sun won 3 out of 4 contested weight categories: both women's events thanks to Miku Tashiro (-63kg) and Chizuru Arai (-70kg) and the men's -73kg thanks to the amazing Shoei Ono... the only Gold Medal not won by a Japanese athlete went to Georgia, thanks to Tato Grigalashivili, who was capable of taking the men's -81kg class trophy home for his Nation... Full Results http://www.ippon.org/gs_ger2020.php Day #2 Medal Session Replay p.s. @MHSN the "new Mongolian" Saeid Mollaei today ended up in 7th place, losing to Khasan Khalmurzaev in the quarterfinals and to Frank De Wit in the repechage round...
