  1. more "FINA OQTs" at the Italian Spring Nationals earlier Today men's 200m Backstroke, Matteo Restivo 1.56.83 (I think he already swam faster earlier in the OQP, though) and Thomas Ceccon 1.57.15 (winning the "B" Final, and he also have faster clockings in the OQP, but he's highly unlikely, almost impossible he's gonna swim the distance in Paris) in the men's 200m Free now we have 2 guys with the OQT (Filippo Megli and Alessandro Ragaini, both at 1.45.X high) I think both of them will compete in the Individual Race at the Olympics, even if Megli missed out the NF QT by 2/100 of a second Sara Curtis won the women's 50m Free with 24.63, which is once again below the OQT (also for our NF), but didn't improve the morning time (I'm a bit disappointed, I expected her to swim at least 24.4 this afternoon)
  2. yesss! back to the glory days of 2 years ago! actually, 2 years ago they posted all the games, but still...2 is better than nothing!
  3. all the Abu Dhabi races have been cancelled! https://www.triathlon.org/news/article/cancellation_of_wtcs_abu_dhabi_2024 this means that also and are now officially qualified to the Olympic Games in the Mixed Relay, since no more (useful) events are scheduled before the deadline of the OQP (March 25th)
  4. this week for me: Swimming (Italian Spring Nationals), Speedskating (Sprint and All-Round World Champs), Biathlon and Alpine Skiing World Cup events, Boxing and Taekwondo Olympic qualifiers and Fencing World Cup and we'll see if I can find some space for a bit of Hockey (NHL and European Leagues playoffs)?
  5. the score was 4-1 for the Italian...4 judges had a 28*-28 score (2 rounds -the first 2 rounds- to 1 for Charaabi, but she also got an official warning), the judge did watch something else and gave a 30-26 score for the Polish woman
  6. more "FINA OQTs" in Riccione earlier Today: men's 800m, Luca De Tullio 7.49.01 women's 200m IM, Sara Franceschi 2.11.29 (in any case, she was already officially qualified to the Olympics also for our NF because of the 400m IM results both in Fukuoka and Doha) moreover, Ginevra Taddeucci just missed out on the OQT by 2.8 secs in the women's 1500m if she could swim that time, she would have earned a spot for the open water swimming race in Paris meanwhile Giulia Gabrielleschi was a lot slower they will try again at the Settecolli meet in June
  7. yes, I think so Cocconcelli is sure to go to Paris because of the relays Lamberti is also on the rising curve (and we might need him for the medley relay, especially if we don't get anybody swimming a good 100m Fly -then Ceccon will be used for that and Lamberti would automatically make the Backstroke leg in that relay) Fangio's time is almost a lock for the semifinals, so they should give her a chance the 100m Breastroke for men is a different beast, as we still have at least 3 men (Poggio, Viberti and Cerasuolo -all of them were in the 59s yesterday) still competing for a place next to Martinenghi in Paris (where surely we're gonna have 2 specialists, but who? ) the Settecolli meet will be a final shootout between those 3 mentioned above, I think
  8. not enough for the Italian Federation, but earlier Today at the Italian Spring Nationals more OQTs ("FINA version") were achieved: men's 100m Backstroke, Michele Lamberti 53.46 men's 100m Breaststroke, Federico Poggio 59.46 women's 100m Fly, Costanza Cocconcelli 57.77 women's 200m Breaststroke, Francesca Fangio 2.23.90
  9. unfortunately, it's the other way round, the Colombian won (and according to our main sports website, it was a robbery)
  10. I was in doubt if I had to post the updates on the KHL because of...you know...bans and controversy goin'on with the Russian sport, but then I decided that the nature of our forum has nothing to do with politics We are just a sport forum and I think it's our task to keep updated with all the most important sport events/leagues in the world, which KHL definitely is Therefore, I'm going to update the playoffs results also for the KHL

  15. as I feared, did the right move leaving the Tokyo Olympic Champion Shori Hamada out of the team for Paris in the women's -78kg Bellandi lasted only 1 min 36 secs against her, while Hamada didn't have any clue against the Italian not that Takayama is unbeatable (she lost against Ma, Lanir, Sampaio, Malonga and Tchumeo in the last 15 months), but, like Wagner, she has the edge over Alice my dream of another Olympic Gold in Judo has gone (I don't think the men nor Scutto/Giuffrida are good enough for gold, maybe they can win a medal, but definitely not jumping on the top of the podium)...
