  3. I expect both Team Pursuit crews to medal, meanwhile I'm not sure at all of what the omnium and madison guys can do (actually, we don't even know for sure who's gonna compete in those events, even if I presume that Viviani in men's Omnium should be a safe bet)
  4. women's Sabre, semifinals Araceli Navarro vs Liza Pusztai Zuzanna Cieslar vs Celia Perez Cuenca men's Epee, semifinals Ian Hauri vs Luigi Midelton Gergely Siklosi vs Tibor Andrasfi
  5. after yesterday's triumph, Today completed the total disaster... all out before the medal session in the men's epee and the women's sabre
  6. sorry, my mistake...with age, I'm even getting a little colorblind fixed
  7. not saying that aren't gonna win a lot of medals, but I think you've been really optimistic

  9. 1.Ariarne Titmus, Summer McIntosh, Thomas Ceccon (mention of Honor for Rikako Ikee, because of her personal history) 2.Ceccon winning both men's 100m and 200m Backstroke; Marchand flopping big time (= no gold for him); Paltrinieri doin'it again (= getting a podium in the pool and in the open water) 3.7 total medals: 2 gold medals (Ceccon, men's 100m + 200m backstroke), 2 silver medals (Paltrinieri, men's 1500m free; Quadarella, women's 1500m free), 3 bronze medals (Martinenghi, men's 100m breaststroke; men's 4*100m free relay; men's 4*100m medley relay) depending on participation (Titmus and/or McIntosh might/should miss the women's 800m free), Quadarella might get a silver or bronze also in that race, improving the total to 8
  10. and now? will our coaches take into consideration a possible switch between Gallo and Torre before Paris? or will they leave the new European Champion out of the individual event in the French Capital?

  13. in the men's Sabre quarterfinals we have 4x , 3x and 1x Luca Curatoli vs Maxime Pianfetti Luigi Samele vs George Dragomir Michele Gallo vs Bolade Apithy Jean-Philippe Patrice vs Sebastien Patrice so, we actually have 2 brothers facing each other with a medal up for grabs
  14. women's Foil semifinals Arianna Errigo vs Carolina Stutchbury Dariia Myroniuk vs Julia Walczyk-Klimaszyk
  15. Errigo on a class of her own... she easily beat Favaretto 15-9 and therefore she's through to the semifinals and has another medal guaranteed to her collection

  17. Aron Szilagyi lost to Enver Yildirim in the second round of men's sabre and there's still one round left, but in the quarterfinals we might see a very rare brothers' affair between Jean-Philippe and Sebastien Patrice with a medal up for grabs
  18. however, it's obvious that we didn't prepare these championships properly, our guys are already fully focused on the Olympic events still, losing to average level opponents hurts
  19. gotta be realistic, those times will never come back... I'm happy to still be a true gold medal candidate in every major competition, both individual and team's
  20. how to avoid an Italian clean sweep in women's Foil...just put Errigo and Favaretto in order to face each other in the quarterfinals, then possibly add the 4th Italian in the same quarter of the brackets...and you're guaranteed some new, unexpected gal in the medal rounds not that we have a truly balanced bracket also in the men's Sabre...Sandro Bazadze, Aron Szilagyi and Gigi Samele all in the same quarter
  21. Paolo Barelli is way more respected than that idiot nowadays in charge of LEN Acquatics the Settecolli meet is the oldest of its kind in Europe, this year it's the 60th anniversary and the Italian Federation has done a lot to promote and protect their Crown Jewel unfortunately, LEN just wanted to make a war against Barelli (who's the former president and has been for a very, very long while...getting swimming way more popular in Europe in the last 20 years at least) and they even scheduled this year's European Championship in this month in sign of disrespect, when in the Olympic years it's always been scheduled in April or max at the beginning of May the consequence of this stupid behaviour by Costa and his accolades is there to be seen
