  1. If I'm thinking of this right, if Jones wins this match Canada would clinch a playoff spot because they beat the USA, Korea and GB (all teams they could tie if they lost their last game).
  2. If I'm thinking of this right, if Jones wins this match she would clinch a playoff spot because they beat the USA, Korea and GB (all teams they could tie if they lost their last game).
  3. And becomes tied with Andre DeGrasse as Canada's most decorated male Olympian. And also ties Cindy Klassen as Canada's most decorated winter Olympian. And like 6 other records I didn't hear because I was busy screaming.
  4. God I love short track, especially the relays. This is always a big event for me. It's been 12 long years, but who could forget that night in 2010. And who can forget tonight!
  5. Canada is not having the most successful Games, but this is one race that I always fixate on. Great feeling!
  6. GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!
  7. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. And Jones shitting the bed (again). I had high expectations for tonight. I don't know why.
  9. China just threw the wrong colour stone.
  10. Kind of crazy, if the USA loses tomorrow and SUI wins then those two teams plus the winner of ITA/NOR along with CHN and ROC would all be tied for the last playoff spot at 4-5. I'm not going to go over who beat who, I'd assume they all beat each other.
  11. Interestingly, the guys who make up the ski sprint team, Cyr and Ritchie, were born within 5 days of each other (Sep 18 and Sep 23 1998).
  12. Canada will finish 3rd because they hold the tie breaker with the US. The question is, who will they play. Both SWE and GB are 7-1 and GB has the tie breaker. SWE plays ROC and GB plays CAN tomorrow. Interestingly, CAN could play GB in the morning and then again in the evening in the semis tomorrow.
  13. And now GB has done the same. Canada has qualified for the playoffs.
  14. China does us a favour and comes through in the 10th end to beat Swiss!
  15. Canada doing great! Ahead of Norway halfway through.
  16. Canada currently in 5th in the women's biathlon relay.
  17. Ok, Jones pulls it off. The other results, especially China beating GB, is very helpful as well.
  18. Despite ROC's best efforts, they ended up beating Canada. For those that didn't see the match, that was mixed doubles against Australia-level bad for Canada. ROC could have been up 4-0 after 1 but it took 2 horrible shots by their skip to give it up. A few other times ROC could have locked it up but they did their best to lose. Canada just wouldn't let them have the loss, though. It was really something to witness. All three teams in Beijing have been terrible. Gushue may make the playoffs just because of the logjam, but he likely won't win a medal. Jones will have to continue to fight just to make the playoffs, and again if she does it likely won't be a medal. And of course the mixed doubles was a debacle.
