  1. Damn, Lucia just outside the final. Too bad we can't get the sisters both in there.
  2. Just sad. They did it to themselves. Total collapse.
  3. I thought there were more, but off the top of my head I can list 11 fourth place finishes by Canadians thus far (and +4 where at least a bronze would have been guaranteed). This isn't to attack these athletes (that's why I've left their names off). But this is a continuing issue for Canada at the Olympics. Much has been made of the 4th/5th place finishes over the last 20 years. At this point we have to accept there's some psychology involved. But hey, at least they're not world champions who can't even get out of the quarters. Or ranked third in the world who can't even get to the quarters. 4. After a pretty strong start, we'll be lucky to see 20 medals total. Golds? Forget about it. We'll hear more "They tried, they were injured, we're just happy to be here". And I'm just some dude who never came close so screw me. But holy shit, Canadians, generally speaking, cannot perform at the Olympics.
  5. Wow. Another Canadian disappointment.
  6. Another serve fault to give it away!
  7. LOL, looks like Pavan and Humana-Paredes will lose too. Oh, Canada. I mean, there's a chance. They're good. I'm trying to stay positive. Hahaha, another serve fault to lose the first set. It doesn't get better than this, I guess.
  8. 13 serving faults, not going to win like that. They beat themselves. Oh well, they put up a fight. On to the next. Edit: To those interested, those serving faults equal 23% of points needed to win for the Danes. The Canadians gave away almost a quarter of the winning points on their own serves. You can see how frustrating that must be for them.
  9. If Canada could stop faulting on serves that be greeeeeeaaaaaat.
  10. And Rogers faults again to finish 5th. Never a medal expected, but she made it entertaining. At least it wasn't another 4th.
  11. And Canada force a third set and looking very good!
  12. Amazing ball to keep alive in beach volleyball to go to match point! HOLY COW!
  13. Good news she fell to 5th! Maybe not another 4th!
  14. Down to fourth....god no please....
  15. Rogers keeps faulting, but she's still in 3rd after 4 throws. Two more to go!
  16. de Grasse strolls across the line in a PB and NR to destroy the field. WOW!
  17. de Grasse walks over the line in a PB, blowing away the field. What a race!
  18. Her mark would have been good enough for 4th in Rio, and she's capable of better. We'll see, but I think she was just trying to get a mark on her second throw after throwing out of bounds on her first.
  19. Its early, but Camryn Rogers takes the lead in the hammer throw.
  20. With these 2 today I think we're up to 15. I'll try to remember them if my mental health can take it, haha.
  21. It's frustrating because to Biles this is a nothing bronze she'll throw in a drawer and it would have meant the world to Ellie, gymnastics Canada and the country. Obviously Simone is right to compete and she did a great job, I'm just talking about perspective.
  22. Not to harp on it (but here I go), but more 4ths than total medals. That says something.
  23. Called it yesterday. As soon as Biles announced she was in the final, I knew it.
  24. I was close to my prediction. Knew it right when Biles said she was going to do the beam.
