    Her mark would have been good enough for 4th in Rio, and she's capable of better. We'll see, but I think she was just trying to get a mark on her second throw after throwing out of bounds on her first.

    It's frustrating because to Biles this is a nothing bronze she'll throw in a drawer and it would have meant the world to Ellie, gymnastics Canada and the country. Obviously Simone is right to compete and she did a great job, I'm just talking about perspective.

    Called it yesterday. As soon as Biles announced she was in the final, I knew it.

    This isn't supposed to be a fast track yet everyone is easily going under the previous WR.

    Ultimately, Canada was never going to be top 2, so maybe saving themselves for today will work out. They get a medal race!

    Also two very important beach volleyball games. And de Grasse starts his journey for 200m gold.

    It's quite confusing and Byzantinian. Why not do it like the speed skating pursuit in the WOG, 1vs8, etc. until you get a winner? Edit: Looking back at the results now, I remember Canada facing Aus and then NZ for the bronze in 2016. It makes sense now.
