  1. that's true but that's for the hospitals. I meant about things people buy in their daily lives . we heard a lot about these kind of problems before and some cities being over their medical capacities but not really in past few days, I wonder if it's a good sign or they just getting used to the situation and prefer to not complain.
  2. Today was the last work day of the year in Iran, we are going into 15 days of "holiday" from tomorrow. the government made it clear that a lockdown (like what we see in Europe and the rest of the word) is not an option here. I hope these holidays help the situation but then that's a sure thing most people don't just stay at home. there will be lots of traveling, partying etc. last night in traditional "Charshanbeh-souri" night people were dancing and jumping on the streets like any other year. and today the official death toll passed 1000 I assume the real number is higher, probably something like 50% . as I said before they don't test everybody because they are limited to something like 6000-8000 tests per day. one surprising thing about Iran is there is almost no shortage for anything. maybe except face mask which still you can find if you search a bit more. and the genius president Rouhani in his last speech of the year was proud of that ! it was like finding one good thing among 100000 bad things and brag about that Rouhani is making himself the most unlikeable person in the country. the extremists always hated him and now his supporters also hate him too. bottom line, it seems since we can't beat coronavirus anytime soon, we are making friend with it ! I can see more people are just adjusting their lives with it. they wear masks but still do what they always do in their normal life. just less touching, and hand shaking is completely erased from everybody's memory.
  3. masks don't help yourself but help others if you are infected. so it's not a bad idea but I think for most people as heywoodu said it's about just feeling safe. I can say here half people are wearing masks all the time. while some of them are not careful about other things ,for example touching that mask with unwashed hands !
  4. personally I think if they can't have the last OQT in France (or anywhere else) that means the situation is still very bad in May and I don't think we will have the Olympics in July. and if they postpone the Olympics itself, there will be enough time to have all these qualifiers. but in case they want to count the ranking to qualify 3 more athletes per weight, this will be the list of qualifiers it will be good for Egypt, Turkey and Kazakhstan, interestingly Turkey will have a full 8 member team ! Men's Kata: + Men's 67kg: + Men's 75kg: + Men's +75kg: + Women's Kata: Women's 55kg: + Women's 61kg: + Women's +61kg: +
  5. yeah that was a sad news but he is fine himself. actually apparently this is not "new", nobody just knew that until yesterday. he confirmed it today but saying "I'm fine, just stay at home and wash your hands" he is very popular here but still I'm quite sure nobody listens to that "stay at home" advise most of our top wrestlers come from Northern provinces (next to Caspian Sea) which is now hit badly by coronavirus. (worse than any other place in the country, only after Qom) that was a terrible idea sending them "home"
  6. Actually no you didn't tell me the reason, I assumed maybe you think the world began at 2008 actually I don't mind the file size. I would even go to a library full of coronavirus to make digital copy myself yes Chinese Taipei NOC is probably a good one, never contacted them myself. because they never host those I'm interested in.
  7. we are talking about two different things, I'm mostly looking for old reports, (and you told me you are interested in games after 2008) no computer at the time, most of them are "books" and someone had to turn then into PDF (apparently nobody did) I'm sure the Iranian NOC has most of those old reports but they are not in PDF, they are hard copies . I had been to Iran NOC academy library, probably few metres away from them but they didn't let me enter. because I had to be a national athlete or I need some kind of paper from one of sport federations but recent reports are probably more available at least there is more chance for that, I contacted Thailand NOC about 2005 Asian Indoor Games, they said sorry we don't have it. but wait a minute it seems there are some PDF left in our computer and they sent me some incomplete reports (at least they tried to help which I appreciate)
  8. lol I do that a lot. I mean A LOT , the best answer I received was from Thailand NOC, and it was mostly " sorry we can't help you" (even though they also sent some PDFs.) most of them don't even answer back specially Iranians ps: I usually ask for older reports , so not getting a positive answer is probably more expected
  9. and this is how continental quotas stand for now Men's Kata: Men's 67kg: Men's 75kg: Men's +75kg: Women's Kata: Women's 55kg: Women's 61kg: Women's +61kg: here is the detailed list, only athletes in bold are qualified right now. others are next in line Oceania - Men Tsuneari Yahiro (75kg) Oceania - Women Alexandra Anacan (Kata) Kristina Mah (61kg) Africa - Men Ali El-Sawy (67kg) Abdalla Abdelaziz (75kg) Ahmed Shawky (Kata) Adnane El-Hakimi (Kata) Africa - Women Feryal Abdelaziz (+61kg) Radwa Sayed (55kg) Btissam Sadini (61kg) Sarah Sayed (Kata) America - Men Thomas Scott (75kg) Brian Irr (+75kg) Andres Madera (67kg) Joaquin Gonzalez (67kg) Daniel Gaysinsky (+75kg) America - Women Alexandra Grande (61kg) Valeria Kumizaki (55kg) Tanya Rodriguez (+61kg) Maria Dmitrova (Kata) Asia - Men Daniyar Yuldashev (+75kg) Yermek Ainazarov (75kg) Dastonbek Otabolaev (75kg) Sadriddin Saymatov (67kg) Asia - Women Gong Li (+61kg) Rozita Alipour (61kg) Sofya Berultseva (+61kg) Li Ranran (55kg) Fatemeh Sadeghi (Kata) Europe - Men Kalvis Kalnins (67kg) Asiman Gurbanli (+75kg) Firdovsi Farzaliyev (67kg) Mario Hodzic (67kg) Europe - Women Silvia Semeraro (+61kg) Bettina Plank (55kg) Anita Serogina (61kg) Laura Palacio (+61kg) Ivet Goranova (55kg) ------------------------------ from the list above only the following athletes are 100% guaranteed a spot even if they fail to qualify directly . for the rest anything is possible. if anybody in that list qualifies directly that changes the order completely. for example if Egypt qualifies at 67kg, the African quota goes to 75kg and that will ruin USA's chance at this weight. Men's 75kg Women's Kata Men's 67kg Women's +61kg another example, if Gong Li qualifies directly, Asian quota goes to Alipour (61kg) , European quota goes to Italy instead of Austria. then the 3rd African quota will go to a male athlete from Morocco in Kata therefore the last American quota will be a female which will be Brazil. that was an example to show one athlete can makes change for 4 more !
  10. Yes, that's what WKF said earlier. so the following countries qualified for Tokyo Men's Kata: Men's 67kg: Men's 75kg: Men's +75kg: Women's Kata: Women's 55kg: Women's 61kg: Women's +61kg:
  11. well Iran didn't participate at the World Championship focusing on the continental events, and both Iranian single sculls rowers are Asian gold medalist, that will be a huge disappointment for them, as far as I know despite the situation those 2 + plus their coach put themselves in quarantine, (kind of a prison) to train full time for this. I hope they consider continental championships
  12. again no final, someone withdrew in all of 6 finals, while all of bronze medal matches happened except that one including Arthur who was really injured. I understand when experienced famous wrestlers withdrew, there is nothing more to learn for them but tonight almost all underdogs withdrew from the final. Ambrocio didn't bother to wrestle in the final. that would be good experience for him losing 10-0 to David Taylor this is the number of quotas at the end of the competition 11 10 4 3 2 2 1 1 1 1 USA now has 15 quotas, it will be hard for them to win anything more in Greco but Retherford or Diakomihalis (or whoever else they send ) will be one of the favorites for 65kg quota. Cuba also has 12, it will be hard for them to add to that number but they have a chance in the last QT at 57kg and also 86kg freestyle.
  13. free quota for Peru as expected, Artur didn't even show up. he was just there to ruin Baez's chance but I guess Argentina doesn't care anymore.
  14. wow ! wow what a win for Argentina. it seems you really can't be 100% sure about anything in sports Retherford really underestimated his opponent , made a dumb mistake and the Argentinian used his chance, probably his only chance in that match. what a pleasant surprise
  15. our friend had wrestled at the Pan American Championship few days ago , it was round robin with 5 wrestlers, which means you can watch him 4 times even though the total time is still less than one wrestling match he is not facing Jordan Burroughs or Rashid Saulaev , his opponents are also not that good but everything he does is 100% wrong he is not just "weak" he doesn't even know a thing about wrestling, I really think he doesn't know he should not be in on his back
  16. 57kg: Tigreros Gilman 65kg: Valdes Retherford 74kg: Gomez Garzon 86kg: Taylor Ambrocio 97kg: Salas Steen 125kg: Dhesi Gwiazdowski most of them are easy predictions, I'm 99% sure about 57 and 125 quotas. also Retherford and Salas.
  17. I think UWW usually uploads matches after a day or two. but specially that 74kg was amazing, he didn't know basic things about how to even stand on the mat, that 86kg didn't had enough time to "shine" he got pinned very quick but I think he was a bit better, at least not his first time on a mat
  18. Semifinals 57kg: Tigreros vs Oliveira Ramirez vs Gilman 65kg: Williams vs Valdes Retherford vs Destribats 74kg: Gomez vs Tafur Montero vs Garzon 86kg: Torreblanca vs Taylor Arthur vs Ambrocio 97kg: Salas vs Ramos Perez vs Steen 125kg: Dhesi vs Merrill Gwiazdowski vs Vivenes another terrible day for Venezuela, they won't qualify a wrestler for Tokyo. Mejias at 57kg despite dominating most of the match lost because of a trapped arm and gave up something like 10pts in one action ! and Diaz got injured in his 2nd match and was very weak in his last group match vs Steen, even though I think Steen still could beat him even if he wasn't injured. we were expecting 2 big matches today, both CUB/USA . one of them happened at 57kg with Gilman narrowly beating Andreu. waiting for Taylor vs Cuba. again USA is huge favorite. other American wrestlers will qualify easily, if Taylor qualifies they will have a full team in men's freestyle
  19. that looks like a free quota for Peru ! Arthur got injured seriously during his match vs Baez, he managed to finish the match which was very ugly but I highly doubt that knee will let him wrestle properly in the semifinal. Baez could beat him by DSQ if he had 20 or 30 more seconds left. maybe even 10 more seconds
  20. Phulka had a huge opportunity to upset top seed former world medalist Gomez. Gomez was leading 9-0 but then ran out of gas and gave up lots of points still managed to win it 10-7. I think 30 more seconds was enough for Phulka to win it. if Gomez gets tried like this I won't be surprised if he loses his SF to Colombia
  21. I'm quire sure this guy from Barbados at 74kg never wrestled before. I wonder if he even watched wrestling before he was the worst wrestler I ever seen the other wrestler is no better, I wonder if Barbados knew which sport is participating. but I believe quota is possible for Jamaica from that part, first time in wrestling maybe ? that guy is American and relatively good. will be interesting to see who between Argentina, Jamaica or Peru wins the quota.
  22. maybe Argentina has a chance for quota after all but at 86kg, Baez just dominated Canadian Pye, he needs 2 more wins and both of them are winnable matches IMO, I still wonder how come Canada didn't enter Alex Moore lost the trials ? but how come he lost to this guy ? Moore beat Russia at Worlds U23. that's no joke meanwhile no Olympics for Oscar Pino. as I was expecting Pacheco never wrestled freestyle before he just gave his leg easily to that PUR guy so many times. Pan American Champion in Greco-Roman is a joke in freestyle and some people think freestyle and Greco are similar !
  23. people here exactly think the opposite. something like how these guys do that without water. oooogghhh
  24. hmmm, empty streets, what a lovely sight ! I have to say in my neighborhood it's more or less the same, streets are almost empty but when you go some parts of the city it's like any other normal day. Tehran reported Saturday as "the most crowded" day since the start of Coronavirus !, it seems even some of those people who were careful got bored of staying at home and went back to the streets
  25. Last night we had only 3 withdrawals if I'm not wrong but tonight the second session was one of the most bizarre wrestling sessions, we had no real gold medal match at all ! out of 14 matches listed for second session, (6 finals and 8 bronze medal matches) 9 of them didn't happen and someone won by walkover I guess only Canadian wrestlers showed up completely mostly because they were the host. I wonder what happened since last night that the number of withdrawals increased massively this is interesting because in wrestling you can't simply withdraw ! you need medical proof that you are injured. of course everybody knows the real reason and it's mostly UWW's fault for even having these senseless finals but still rules are rules. I assume since UWW wasn't strict last night with 3 withdrawals, everybody decided to not show up tonight imagine what will happen if UWW decides to act seriously and disqualify all of these fake injured wrestlers all 4 American wrestlers withdrew from the final, Team USA doctor had a busy afternoon making fake excuses or fake injuries
