  1. I want Cilic to win it all at this point @dcro I dislike Nadal and Zverev, and Ruud winning a slam would be too random and kind of ridiculous for him to win one before Tsitsipas, Rublev, (or Zverev even though I dislike him). Plus I always had a soft spot for Cilic.
  2. No, it was not https://www.worldathletics.org/records/toplists/throws/javelin-throw/outdoor/women/senior/2022?regionType=world&page=1&bestResultsOnly=true
  3. Orestis Karnezis (football) He was our goalkeeper at the 2014 World Cup. 49 caps with the national team between 2012 and 2018. He is 36 yo and played for clubs like Napoli, Lille, Granada, Watford, Udinese, and Panathinaikos in his career.
  4. 65.40 for 19 yo Elina Tzengko in the women's javelin in Ostrava Her progress kind of stalled since her 63.96 in 2020 as a 17 yo, but this is a big new PB and 2nd in the world this year
  5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vedat_Albayrak I'm not sure when he started competing for Greece or what his situation is, but born in competing for and then for
  6. Men's singles main draw: Second round: (4) Stefanos Tsitsipas GRE d. (Q) Zdenek Kolar CZE 6-3 7-6(8) 6-7(3) 7-6(7) Third round: (4) Stefanos Tsitsipas GRE d. Mikael Ymer SWE 6-2 6-2 6-1 Fourth round: (4) Stefanos Tsitsipas GRE vs. Holger Rune DEN Women's singles main draw: Second round: Karolina Muchova CZE d. 7. It is certainly not a new trend in Greece, it is normal here for hooligans
  8. 5th place for Anastasiadou/Kontou in LW2X at World Cup I. Considering they are 20 and 16 years old, that's a decent result. Will be interesting to see how they progress over the next few years.
  9. Sofia Georgopoulou seems like our last hope to save Greek weightlifting, let's see if she can win here
  10. I can't stand Giorgi but I'm sure @Monzanatoris happy At least now Sabalenka can't pass Sakkari in the rankings, so Maria should stay top 5 unless Pegula makes the final or Fernandez wins the title.
  11. So we have the world number 4 and world number 7 in the women's sabre but could not organise a National Championships this year due to not enough fencers signing up in that category
  12. Probably she will go down to 5 or 6 at most. And she barely has any points to defend until the US Open, so I think she'll be okay. The gap between 2 and 6 is very slim, and Jabeur for example has a lot of points to defend and also Sabalenka, which as of now they won't be able to do at Wimbledon.
  13. How Sakkari and Bencic allowed that girl to win the US Open, I will never understand
  14. Men's singles main draw: First round: (4) Stefanos Tsitsipas GRE d. Lorenzo Musetti ITA 5-7 4-6 6-2 6-3 6-2 Second round: (4) Stefanos Tsitsipas GRE vs. (Q) Zdenek Kolar CZE Women's singles main draw: First round: (4) Maria Sakkari GRE d. Clara Burel FRA 6-2 6-3 First round: (WC) Daria Saville AUS d. (Q) Valentini Grammatikopoulou GRE 6-1 6-2 Second round: (4) Maria Sakkari GRE vs. Karolina Muchova CZE
  15. Tsitsipas survived a scare, coming back from 0-2 sets down to win in 5 sets
  16. "Greece has some fantastic young athletes who, with the right guidance, have the potential to really establish the country on the world pentathlon circuit." I guess he had to say something like this to be nice, we all know it's not true
23.35 η Αναστασίου στα 200μ! 18. 2022 European Rowing U19 Championships: GOLD: Women's single sculls: Aikaterini Gkogkou Women's pair: Elisavet Argyraki, Ioanna Asvesta Women's double sculls: Sofia Dalidou, Styliani Natsioula SILVER: Men's quadruple sculls: Panagiotis Adam, Nikolaos Cholopoulos, Apostolos Lykomitros, Dimitrios Papazoglou
  19. Georgiadou is now ranked 4, equaling Vougiouka's best ever ranking Gkountoura is ranked 7
  20. Another loss for Muguruza. How is she still ranked in the top 10? Just from her WTA Finals points?
  21. JW2X: Gold JW1X: Gold JW2-: Gold JM4x: Silver We really dominated the women's events with one or two people in the boat, and our JM4X did great especially with a 15yo winning a medal
  22. Yeah, that's why I said it was a tough draw. Muchova in R2 is not easy either.
  23. 2022 Roland Garros: Women's singles qualifying: First round: Ysaline Bonaventure BEL d. Despina Papamichail GRE 6-1 3-6 7-6(4) First round: Valentini Grammatikopoulou GRE d. Valeria Savinykh RUS 6-4 6-1 Second round: Valentini Grammatikopoulou GRE d. Isabella Shinikova BUL 2-6 6-0 6-3 Third round: Valentini Grammatikopoulou GRE d. Christina McHale USA 6-3 6-3 Men's singles main draw: First round: (4) Stefanos Tsitsipas GRE vs. Lorenzo Musetti ITA Women's singles main draw: First round: (4) Maria Sakkari GRE vs. Clara Burel FRA First round: (Q) Valentini Grammatikopoulou GRE vs. (WC) Daria Saville AUS
  24. After Day 1: JW2X: Our girls dominated their heat and anything other than a gold would be a big disappointment. Although Natsioula won bronze here in 2020 and gold in 2021 so silver would also be nice so she can get all colours JM2X: I guess the goal is to advance to Final A from SF tomorrow. Makrygiannis is only 14 yo competing at U19 so it is really hard to expect anything from him at this age. JM4-: They are in Final B, disappointing. JW4X: I expected more from this team but Leventelli seems out of form after her bronze last year at the European U23s in LW1X, and Ntara is only 14 yo. Still they advanced to Final A so let's see what they do but I don't expect a medal unfortunately. JW1X: Gkogkou dominated her heat and it seems that she will definitely win a medal, she's probably the favourite for gold although I don't know about this Italian girl. JM4X: I expect a medal from them but the first goal is to make Final A. JW2-: They won their heat and anything less than a medal would be a massive disappointment. JM2-: They made it to Final A but it's not very convincing, I don't expect a medal. Once again our girls are the ones we expect the medals from. I think we will finish with 3-4 medals. JW2X, JW1X, JW2- all should do it and then possibly JM4X with a small chance to JW4X.
  25. I am not defending these juries (Poland, Romania etc), but it is also ridiculous how certain countries like Australia, Sweden, Azerbaijan are ALWAYS favoured by the juries every single year...
