  3. I think 4 of the Americans deserved golds in 1984 and 5 didn't. being the country that lost out badly because of the home town judging. I think the and fighters would have been so good that the judges could not possibly vote against them. (I hope)

  12. 1970 - Best and Law were both European players of the year in the years preceding that. 1986 - Lineker was not at his peak and probably would have been only a substitite and Southall and Ratcliffe were infinitely superior to their English counterparts. 2018 - OK, Bale was better but I admit maybe not enough to make a difference
