  1. I am old enough (just about ) to remember Luxembourg compete in Eurovision.
  2. I think as things stand I am settling myself for winning 5-6 medals. It could be a couple more but it could be a couple fewer if things go pear-shaped. I think anything above 6 would be considered a huge return, despite us having way more medal chances this time. I think we will win 1-2 golds amongst that. In a favourable Games, it could be as high as 3-4 but what is most likely is 1 or 2. It seems like Adeleke and Wiffen could be the keys to determine if this is going to be an extraordinary Games for us. Right now I’d have both in medal contention but there really is a prospect where either or both could strike gold. My prediction right now is 1 gold, 3 silvers and 2 bronze.
  3. Kind of surprised Norway haven't given the mixed 4x400m relay a try. They qualified a women's 4x400m relay here so they clearly have a couple of decent runners there and add Warholm and Ingvaldsen (who was 6th at last year's world championships in 400m) and they have the basis to challenge for medals.
  4. Any medal would be amazing but in this form, anything is possible
  5. Mawdsley is so impressive in relays, she elevates her performance to another level!
  6. Adeleke split 48.45 secs
  7. Bronze!! Another unbelievable run. So proud of the team!
  8. Congrats to Poland too. Great night for your teams
  9. France absolutely on fire
  10. Our only 2 teams here and both qualified at the first ask. Amazing night for us
  11. So proud of our girls! They all did the job but wow, big shout out to Rhasidat and Sharlene for an incredible 2 races on the space of 90 mins or so
  12. I love Ghana’s singlet
  13. Yesssss!!! Job done For our mixed team !!
  14. Bring back the old times Welcome to the forum!
  15. It shows on the link you posted that they both finished 10.11 and were separated by 3 thousands of a second. Edit: Ahh ok, you mean it was De Grasse who won not Bromell.
  16. Massive run by Rhasidat. The time is still hugely impressive, big wind or no big wind but it is the margin she beat some big names in that race which was most impressive including the amazing start she had. I cannot wait to see her race over the lap now. I think she will take a big chunk out of her 200m NR too when she gets a chance
  17. I was doing some calculating a few months back and it became obvious the men's double badminton pair never really had a shot at qualifying even though they were showing in a qualifying spot. The reason being that many pairs from other nations had not yet competed in enough events to gather points and it was clear that over the course of the next few months they would move clearly ahead. I am a bit worried too about our rowing and boxing teams, neither seem to be hitting the Olympic year in ideal form. For rowing, I am sure just like last year they will improve greatly in the coming months, but I was secretly hoping we could see some major breakthroughs and push for another gold from another crew outside of the lightweight men's double. It can all still come together of course, I think as fans we are just looking for those signs that this summer will be a good one. The boxing team, since Rio 2016 I go into each Olympics expecting absolutely nothing and anything is a bonus. But still the start to this year has not been good at all. Anything can still happen in Paris though, good or bad but it's unlikely we will get a haul of boxing medals.
  18. @hckošice I am assuming there is no promotion out of this development league for the winning team(s)?
  19. I have arranged 3 weeks vacation from work during the Olympics also. I will also be going to the Olympics so I am just excited for everything
  20. Not ideal of course but that’s a relief to hear it’s a minor issue.
  21. The continental qualifier is only open to nations that qualified 0 or 1 boat at the World Championships. Ireland qualified 6 boats there so we aren’t eligible to compete.
  22. France with 28 golds and Netherlands with 18 seems like a wild prediction
  23. So it seems like the dramatic announcement was all to say she is trying out a new hydration drink this year
  24. Are Netherlands competing in the Europeans? I heard the commentator on the world rowing feed say they were taking a week break now and skipping Europeans.
  25. Wonderful to see Georgia make it
