  1. wins 0 medal. Last time without a medal is 2001 while other Asian countries are with big progress.
  2. Chinese player Shi Yuqi accepts the WCH invitation and Chen Long rejects it. Chinese badminton association lifted the internal suspension of Shi Yuqi thanks to his "good behavior" and "good attitude". My own interpretation of this late acception and rejection swap is because that Chen Long is going to retire soon and giving up the unexpectedly postponed Asian Games at home. With the disappointment of recent men's single tournament's result and to avoid the humiliation on WCH, Chinese association ultimately decides to lift Shu Yuqi's suspension.
  3. World leaders are busy gesturing making effort to control the inflation, ease the energy crises, taking care of the food supply chain blah, blah. All these meaningless meetings, dialogues, photos or diplomatic breaking throughs just want voters not to focus on the crises itself, in stead, to focus on some superficial efforts. For sure, USA don't hope the crisis, namely the ongoing war, end soon before Russia is weaken. As long as giving money and weapons whenever Ukraine is running out, US could control the pace of the war. It happens in Europe after all.
  4. Anyone knows why Dressel quit 100m free semi final?
  5. Good measure to ease the inflation in the US.
  6. China will send a full A team to WCH due to the postponement of Asian Games and Covid curbs in Shanghai lifted. The list includes all Tokyo Olympics medalists, some other Olympians and some young talents from National Games last year.
  7. The small talks between Vietnamese Premier and Vietnamese Defense Minister during break time of US-ASEAN summit in Washington DC on May 13th. Premier: Fxxk, nothing to fear about the US. They told us not to trust Russia. We don't have trust either. Defense Minister: The Russia-Ukraine war is caused by the US itself. (I am not sure if there is English translation version, the subtitle is in Vietnamese)
  8. Erdogan is always good at playing the limited cards on hand. What he needs is clear enough to the whole world: lift the bans and sanctions towards Turkey and list PKK as terrorist group and stop sheltering them. Let's see how Sweden and Finland response. There's always some room for negotiation.
  9. Let's welcome the newcomer of Thomas Cup semi-finalist and a new badminton powerhouse as a team player .
  10. China, China, China. It seems that all elections of smaller countries could be divided into Pro-China or Pro-US by the typical western media and each election is about showing loyalty to some superpower. No one cares why the candidate win the popularity and what promises attract the voters. Who cares the bullshit internal policies of such a tiny country after all?
  11. Really confusing about Taliban's rules. It will only make it further to get international society's recognition. maintaining status quo is a much better option.
  12. Thanks to every nation voted China, and especially thanks to @rybak @OlympicIRL @Ruslan @kungshamra71. And thanks to @Vektor hosting a such a wonderful and well-organized event. Congrats to @Cobi and already looking forward to going to Spain.
  13. https://www.ocasia.org/news/2987-oca-press-release-on-hangzhou-asian-games-2022-and-shantou-asian-youth-games-2021.html Shantou China Asian Youth Games 2021 has been cancelled and next is Tashkent Uzbekistan Asian Youth Games 2025
  14. Chinese head coach Zhang Jun first time revealed that Shi Yuqi was under one-year internal suspension because of his quitting on opponent's match point during Thomas Cup last year and subsequent quarrel with fans on internet. Shi Yuqi will be absent from most tournaments of this year including Thomas Cup and World Championships. The most optimistic scenario is that he will be back at November.
  15. It's not official yet but according to volunteers' social media, Summer Universiade 2021 would be postponed again (for sure) and replace Russia Universiade 2023 (likely).
  16. It's official now. The Asian Olympic Council announced on the 6th that the 19th Asian Games, originally scheduled to be held in Hangzhou, China, from September 10 to 25, 2022, would be postponed.
  17. Chinese trials for WCH and Asian Games were reportedly cancelled after an unspecified date suspension due to Shanghai Covid lockdown. What I currently learnt is that federation will directly select some swimmers who already met the FINA standards to form the national team. TBH I am not sure if China will send the team to WCH and the priority goes to Asian Games at home.
