Do we have enough talent to justify a third sprint women? Will the sprint team be three people? I guess at that point the 14th quota probably doesn't have much of a chance at winning a medal (unless they can convince Michael Woods to compete in the road race) so it may go to whoever is having a good season.

Like what's the point in watching top level sports if you truly believe all the top contenders are cheaters?

I think the events are mostly set for 2024 (barring weightlifting getting completely kicked out), I'm thinking ahead as to how the IOC may make medaling events gender equal (because they will). Gymnastics poses an interesting conundrum where they'll have to work with wrestling to keep their respective disciplines in the games or either axe the artistic apparatus events or increase the women's event to six apparatuses by adding two of PH/Rings/PB/HB, neither of which are ideal.

In terms of being removed without being replaced
8 karate events
4 weightlifting events
2 baseball/softball events
New events which did not replace existing ones
2 breaking events
2 sport climbing events
This gives us a net event count of -10.

Final day of competition is unsurprisingly a quiet day, but Canada will have one final medal opportunity in track cycling where Kelsey Mitchell will compete in the women's individual sprint.

Day 14 saw Canada win four medals including gold in women's football, our best day of the games.
Day 15 sees things winding down, but we still have medal chances in athletics (women's 4x400m relay), canoeing (women's C2 500m), diving (men's 10m platform) and karate (men's +61kg).

I expected 20 medals with a range of 15-25 so we did around what I expected, though we do have more medal chances tomorrow so we could hit that upper range.

Day 13 was a good day with three medals.
Day 14 has a chance at being another good day for Canada. We are already guaranteed a medal in football (women's tournament) while athletics has quite a few chances with men's 4x100m relay, men's 5000m, women's 1500m and while unlikely the men's 50km walk might produce a good result.

20 athletes still in contention after 30km
Time to head home and catch the end of this race.

To be fair, in artistic gymnastics there is a lot of overlap between the events. Even outside the Olympics FIG is barely welcoming towards specialists.

Until they add pressure sensors to shoes this won't be happening any time soon.

vs Gold Medal Race
Here's a quick overview of the gold medal chances the two nations have going into Day 14 (note I am being generous about their chances)
China
Athletics - Women's 20km Walk
Athletics - Women's Javelin Throw
Karate - Women's -61kg
Table Tennis - Men's Team
Wrestling - Women's Freestyle -53kg
United States
Athletics - Women's 400m
Athletics - Women's 4x100m Relay
Karate - Men's -75kg
Volleyball - Women's Beach Volleyball
Wrestling - Men's Freestyle -125kg
Interestingly, an even match for Day 14. China has the most secured gold medal (table tennis), but the United States may end the day just edging out China.
Of course there are future gold medal chances at risk going into Day 14, here are the events where the gold medal chance may be extinguished due to an early loss.
China
Boxing - Women's Middleweight
Canoeing - Women's C2 500m
Cycling - Women's Individual Sprint
Diving - Men's 10m Platform
Wrestling - Women's Freestyle -50kg
United States
Basketball - Women's Tournament
Boxing - Men's Lightweight
Volleyball - Women's Indoor Tournament
Wrestling - Men's Freestyle -97kg
Wrestling - Women's Freestyle -50kg
I suspect there will be some gold medal chances loss between the two nations. Obviously each loss for the United States will make things harder, at the very worst they must match their losses with China.

Unless the rest of the field picks things up (or one of them gets gassed) we may have our top three. Fourth place is over 20 seconds behind Olivier/Rasovszky, not an insurmountable lead.

Day 12 Standings
Hello and welcome to the Day 12 Standings of this year's Olympics League! I have decided to delay the whole Report changes for today's (my time) one because it was pretty stressful and time consuming to try and do it today and yesterday and the delay may help filter some teams very unlikely to win the inaugural Olympics League (atleast I am hoping it's not the last) and make the Report writing process way quicker and more enjoyable. Alright, daily apology and greeting over, now the good stuff.
Full Standings:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NiyTqxwllnpaL3jr_ziLk4UTxz6QuVU6sQNjZ8FVRUU/edit?usp=sharing
Biggest Gainers:
1. Kenya | 70th -> 46th (+24)
2. Iran | 61st -> 45th (+16)
3. Uganda | 71st -> 59th (+12)
4. Kyrgyzstan | 55th -> 47th (+8)
5. Egypt | 82nd -> 76th (+6)
Newcomers:
Syria (85th)
Liberia (107th)
Montenegro (112th)
Botswana (115th)
Trinidad & Tobago (116th)
There's not gonna be a Day 12 Report, but a Day 13 one I will try to drop later today or at the very start of the next day (my time), but even if later, it will come up on this thread, because I feel like there was enough time without a report and want to stop the "no Report streak". It will be the same concept as the one I wanted to apply to the Day 12 Report but later decided to not and delay them, like I said earlier. Good night everyone, see you on the next post, which is hopefully gonna be the Day 14 Report. Bye!

Canada picks up its fourth gold on Day 12.
Day 13 could be another good day with medal chances in athletics (men's decathlon), canoeing (women's C1 200m), cycling (women's keirin) and diving (women's 10m platform)
