  1. Has any loose ski made it all the way down to the bottom yet, the Holy Grail for runaway skis.
  2. Think that’s true. Never so carefree again.
  3. Well, maybe Vlhova’s time was not so bad as the others are doing worse.
  4. British ES comms say that as a power skier Vlhova does not do well on a flattish course.
  5. Vlhova gets down but already 0.72 down on Duerr.
  6. No, Johaug could easily lose a couple of hundred metres over 1500m to a sprint: just would not work. Once your team is detached by more than 20m there’s no way back onto the group.
  7. Nina O’Brien speaks from her hospital bed. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10488061/Olympic-skier-Nina-OBrien-24-reveals-suffered-open-leg-fracture-undergone-surgery.html

  9. Kohala finishes with a crash but…..just gets to the line!
  10. You have the same system in motor-cycle speedway, but with glamorous track babes rather than red buttons.
  11. No, it is completely open. There’s a big screen, athletes are called up one by one & choose their own place by hitting a big red button. It has been on TV sometimes.
  12. Tvsetkov hesitates & misses shot 20! Always happens.
  13. Sundling just crazily faster than all the others
  14. The one consolation for Team GB is that Thomas Bach (Gold, Fencing 1976) is on hand to offer some advice on how to get the best out of room service in Five Star Hotels.
  15. I do think this is part of the problem. The sport works fine at World Cup level where there’s dozens of races a weekend & you just get on with. But as soon as the Olympics roll around and the judges see the chance to get their faces on global TV… But I do wonder if the sport is workable in a hyper-competitive environment.
  16. Sure, but did the judges under-mark her first two jumps? I think so.
  17. French coach doubling up as a carpenter.
  18. Think they got the tactics wrong & she should gave gone for that second. No point in putting in a safe but easy jump second.
