    There's also qualification round 2 of the team shooting competitions, which are practically finals...

    The entire Athletics team is in lockdown due to close contact with Sam Kendricks. All their athletes are being tested and won't be allowed to leave their rooms until the results come back negative.

    Probably confused because Harvey has Canada's best individual fencing finish (7th from Rio).

    Canada's best fencing finish is 4th (Athens 2004 women's team épée).

    Oleksiak was faster in the individual 200m free finals on a flat start, Smith was over a second faster in the prelims. Not a great performance by either of them. Summer had a big drop from the individual 200 free tho.

    Kelsey Wog being disqualified from the 200m breast after finishing 16th in the heats *really* doesn't inspire confidence ahead of the medley relays... In better news El Nahas is in the quarterfinals in judo after two easy fights. He faces world number one Varlam Liparteliani next.

    Final score in women's team foil is 45 - 29 . Losing isn't really a disappointment, but this should have been close. It wasn't.

    Jessica Guo had a meltdown, going 7-17

    doing worse than expected against France (France was favoured to win, but given Canada went 2-0 against France in the individual event Canada losing by over 10 points seems surprising), young Jessica Guo especially is really struggling. Hopefully this doesn't affect her too much.
