  1. There are so many reasons why Qatar shouldn't host, and it never made the shortlist (ie doesn't meet the standards)... so I don't see the IOC gravitating to them.
  2. Toronto forgo 2024 to bid for 2028 (at least that was the plan). As someone from the city it is frustrating but at the same time if you snooze you lose.
  3. At the 2017 FIBA Under-17 Women's Oceania Championship beat 166-3
  4. No High divers from Serbia... Also Omega timing has list of synchro swimmers/divers up.
  5. Both LA and Paris said they would not bid for 2028, so this decision by the IOC is smart. Its not like there are cities lining up to host...
  6. +2.5 100m is harder to medal in.. I say relay/200m for men. Drouin might not be in form so that's difficult to gauge. There might be a surprise from Mo Ahmed in the 5000m...
  7. Emmanual had 22.55 in the women's 200, which would have been a national record but the wind was too strong. Drouin did not compete as he pulled out due to an injury to his Achilles (he will compete in London). Barber had a disappointing 5.40m showing and Nettey had 6.23m. To qualify for worlds you need the standard (at any event) + finish in top 2 at nationals to qualify. For a lot of the events only 2-3 have the times/distances so they didn't need to push the limit.
  8. Does anyone know if the traditional tournament is being replaced by 3x3?
  9. De Grasse has a slightly wind aided time of 19.96 in the 200, but pretty much all other results were enough to qualify for worlds (top 2 and have standard). Emmanual had 22.55 in the women's 200, which would have been a national record but the wind was too strong. Watson (54.97) and Crew (18.32m) broke the championship records as well...
  10. Where did you go for vacation?
  11. Better choice of wording would be inconsistent. Here is one example But this event was well organized and had a lot of attention to detail, which I found surprising considering they had only 90 days to prepare for it.
  12. Final medal table at the Asian Athletics Championships: (a lot of top athletes did not compete and there was rampant cheating among Indian technical officials). Via Wikipedia:
  13. Canada (U19) is the World Champion!!! Unbelievable, first ever medal in the tournament, and first ever gold medal in an international FIBA Tournament!!!
  14. First day Gold Cup: Group A: Canada 4 French Guiana 2 Honduras 0 Costa Rica 1
  15. Taking a set from France in itself is an accomplishment.
  16. Gold Cup starts today in the USA
  17. Sorry for your loss
  18. Wasn't aware of that, thanks for pointing it out!
  19. Canada,Brazil, Russia were in the f6 and in the same group and all the teams won one match and Canada was out, and history seems to repeating itself here, holding my breath!
  20. Just wow. Melissa Bishop was robbed in Rio!! What a joke.
  21. Cool fireworks for Canada's 150th
  22. Happy 150th Birthday to Canada!!
  23. Totallympics member Carfu is in Algeria for the championships...
  24. All the events have hard qualification times than in 2014, except the women's 500.
