You won a quota and you’re salty? I do agree it was over-scored, but don’t think it was by more than ten marks.

I’m not salty, I’m just saying that while :PRK  :UKR  &. :MEX received their scores more or less consistent with what they did, that overscore (which after watching it again carefully was not as big as I thought) gave Canada an advantage over their nearest rivals, which felt the pressure of doing it perfectly in that last round.

Guys all Top 18 are really safe

I think so too, provided that out of the synchro pairs from :CHN :FRA :GBR :ITA :MEX :USA, at least 6 divers “double” up, which is likely.

Right now, the last athlete with a mathematical chance would be :PUR Emmanuel Vazquez, but I doubt anyone past :DOM Frandiel Gomez makes it.

  3. :MEX  MEXICO :MEX

Ciao Totallympics! Just before the time limit, Mexican selection committee is

proud to present this year's entry to the Annual International Song Contest:

After their last year debut in this competition, Mexican duet Los Rumberos return to present a

collaboration with British singer-songwriter Riva Taylor, who since 2021 has been working with

a combination of bossa nova, jazz and Latin American rhythms, resulting in this year's entry:

Cubano - Riva Taylor & Los Rumberos

  4. Without further guesses, and until all synchro teams are confirmed, here’s what the theoretical women quotas in platform as of today would be:

23 Qualified divers before 2024 WA Championships:

    :FRA 2 (synchro only)

    :CHN 4 (synchro + 2 individuals)

    :GBR 4 (synchro + 2 individuals)

    :USA 3 (synchro + 1 individual)

    :GER 2 individuals

    :MEX 2 individuals

    :AUS 1 individual

    :BRA 1 individual

    :CAN 1 individual

    :EGY 1 individual

    :JPN 1 individual

    :ESP 1 individual

    - - - - - - - - - - - - -

8 2024 WA Championships synchro pairs not previously qualified (in finishing order):

    :WHT :WHT :WHT :WHT ?

    - - - - - - - - - - - - -

3 (4)2024 WA Championships individual finalists not previously qualified (in finishing order):

    :PRK 1 individual

    :ITA 1 individual

    :NED 1 individual

    :AUS 1 individual

So we already have 35 divers, but given Jade Gillet seems to be doubling in the synchro events, I think these quotas can be taken for granted.

I'm not sure that Miller can qualify for the individual competition - I may have misunderstood the qualification document, but in order to get a quota under the "additional athlete" phase, they had to finish higher than 21st and Miller was 25th.

Sorry to correct, but the sentence reads “at the 21st World Aquatics Championships”

So if I’ve got this right, let’s say Toulson, Hongchan, Spendolini-Sireix, Yuxi, Wassen, Wassen, Schnell, Parratto, Agundez, Orozco, McKay all qualify themselves for Paris in synchro/individual. That would mean Miller gets an individual quota?

Obviously, that’ll mean we need :MEX:GER:CAN to secure women’s 10m synchro quotas here.

She’ll need :AUS :GER & :MEX all to qualify, and at least 5 of those divers to be picked for individual & synchro, which is quite likely.

On the other side, what's the problem if you have two divers make composite synchro duet???

That’s another good point, they could actually allow composite teams from NOC’s with 2 divers, but so far, they seem reluctant to do so.

The only thing I really would dread is if they replace the men/women synchro, with mixed events.

Wikipedia have awarded the women's 10m platform quotas to the following:

    :ITA Sarah Jodoin di Maria

    :AUS Melissa Wu

    :PUR Maycey Vieta

    :PRK Kim Mi-rae

    :NED Else Praasterink

    :UKR Sofiia Lyskun

    :JPN Rin Kaneto

    :KOR Kim Na-hyun

    :ITA Maia Biginelli

    :CUB Anisley Garcia

    :USA Katrina Young

    :LAT Dzeja Patrika

I think it’s a little premature, as I don’t think they could have the criteria selection for each NOC, but I may be wrong.

What would need to happen for Kate Miller to qualify? :d

At least 11 of the synchro competitors will have to be nominated to compete also in the individuals, her chances are slim.

From the divers left out in the prelims, I’d think :CUB has a good chance to be there, but only after synchro I could speculate more.

It's  sad that this discipline has only 8 places, beyond host 7, but in 7 relays in swimming we have 16 teams, but only few could took medal.  Took some this quotas and give for diving.

I’ve always thought that giving the hosts and automatic quota in synchro is unfair, as more deserving teams have been left out since Rio.

  11. For women platform, we have 16 places reserved for synchro ( :CHN  :FRA  :GBR & :USA ) and 15 other previous qualifiers.

Out of :ITA:PUR:GER:NED:GBR:JPN:KOR:GER, the top 3 in the final will have their places secured, while next four in the order (even if not all of them get in the final) are likely to also advance as the Chinese, Toulson & Schnell most surely compete in individual and synchro.

For the others they will have to wait to see which countries qualify in synchro before anything else could be determined; currently last one with a mathematical chance of qualifying (according to me) is :NZL Dawson, although it seems unlikely.

Mexico is back in the game!

    Yes they are.

Italian pair just needs to execute their dive ”just good”, not perfect and they’re in.

Mexico and Spain need to have a more solid execution, same as Poland :pope:

Pitty for the German pair, pleasantly surprised by the Croats
