  1. Well sooner or later every corner of the world will have it, except for places like Tristan Da Cunha and Pitcairn.
  2. Tomorrow starts the first stage of FINA's Premier diving competition, with the synchro events in both genders. This should be a good thermometer as which divers might have a legitimate shot to defeat the Chinese at the Olympics.

  5. Indeed, it puts a lot of pressure on Suriname to perform really well at the championships, but since Canada didn't enter a single rider in the sprint and they only have 88 points above Suriname, I think only a real tragedy might prevent Tjon en Fa from being in Tokyo.
  6. At this point, they only need to avoid being disqualified. Every other country in the list has already secure a quota, eveb Canada and Trinidad and Tobago without even participating.
  7. GAXIOLA!!! Another top 8th place for Mexico
  8. They are also in, but iw will only be confirmed after eightfinals.
  9. Unless Van Riesen, gets dq after a revision or protest, just lost An Olympic quota in women’s sprint, the place likely to be taken by Also, & ensured a rider in that event.

  11. Quotas in Men's Team Sprint (again a disqualification might change the standings): Poland, overtake the Japanese team for 7th position in the Olympic ranking, and unless disqualified, they're in. Now Russia, who advanced to first round edging Japan for the last spot, is 240 points behind them in the Olympic ranking, so in order for to secure a quota, their riders need to finish 6th or higher in the final standing, otherwise gets the last spot. *EDIT: Russia finished in 5th place, so they qualify for Tokyo 2020.
  12. Canada was already out of contention, as they couldn't displace Poland from 8th place, even if the former won the gold medal here.
  13. Quotas in Women's Team Sprint (except a disqualification occurs): @Werloc Krupeckaite is in Tokyo.
  14. According to my numbers, two countries in each gender have also secured quotas in the Olympic Madison event, even if they don’t race at the championships. In Women’s and In Men’s and
  15. The only chance for France it’s either one of those teams gets disqualified. Even if the win and one out of Germany or Switzerland finishes 8th, the points difference will only be of 1350 points, not enough as Germany holds a 1370 lesd over France and the Swiss have 1510 points more than the French.
  16. As with the women, unless a team get disqualified, these are the Olympic quotas in men’s team pursuit: Now is the French team who will sadly miss out, despite a good effort, as their main hope was that Germany or Seitzerland get cut out in qualification.
  17. Unless some unexpected disqualification happens after this round, here are the Olympic quotas in women’s team pursuit: France overtook Belgium for the last spot. Sadly for Ireland, even winning the Champs give them enough points to surpass the French team.

  22. Indeed as @Grassmarket said, this is FINA's second tier circuit, open to every federation. However, we may see some good divers, some making a comeback from injury or a short pause in their careers, along those who narrowly missed a spot on the World Series by just a few points. The stage is set for the first event, to be hosted in Madrid from tomorrow until Sunday. Live Results should be accesible in this link, while Startlists & Results will appear on the second one. Among the finals to be contested tomorrow, the American divers in women's 3m springboard should start as favorites, but as per the rules, two of them will not advance to semifinals, so it will be interesting to see who gets and early exit. However, the US squad should also lookout for Ukraine's Olena Fedorova, who should be their main challenge. We could also expect nice performances from the Aussies Sheehan and Koloi (who are very capable competitors, but are part of their country's team in this event, plus Sweden's Emma Gullstrand and Ireland's Clare Cryan, both of whom will be looking to sharpen their executions looking for a ticket for the Olympics at FINA's World Cup in April. Likewise, David Dinsmore should secure the top spot in men's 10m platform. His main rivals will come among Vinko Paradzik (SWE), Maicol Verzotto (ITA), Nikolaos Molvalis (GRE) and the Canadian guys.
  23. Australia won the women's C2 500 race; however, the results page doesn't clarify is Samoa actually started, was disqualified or any other reason for them not having a registered time, so I'm in doubt if they will be awarded the quota.
