  1. AVF beach volleyball 🏐 Continental cup ( 1 quota reserved for the winner in each gender ) Central Zone qualifiers at Cox’s Bazar Men’s team : First round 2-0 SF 2-0 Final V (* winner directly qualifies for final round while the losing finalist will play in Playoff round with other zonal losing finalists to qualify for final round) Women’s team First Round 0-2 ( Did not progress further)
  2. Not such a disaster world championships for the rowing team . @EselTheDonkey They qualified 6/14 boat , can add to that at the Final regatta. Got a world champion in olympic class boat as well.
  3. If that is the case, you would have say that is the right decision. Absolutely the players must take responsibility but there must be something wring with his approach and tactics . These players are playing for some of the top clubs in europe and performing at the highest level. will turn it around, they have done it before & will do it again.
  4. Sumit Nagal is through to the final at Tulln , Austria (Challenger circuit) He defeated higher rank Cobolli 6-3 , 6-4. Yet another FINAL for Nagal in european circuit.
  5. 1-2 Heartbreak 💔…lost the match in last few mins of the match.
  6. Game Week #1 Results 3-1 5-1 ( Neymar scored 2 goals & now overtakes Pele as all time leading goal scorer.
  7. T20 is always unpredictable and most matches are close. A lower ranked team could easily defeat a higher ranked side. With possibly 8 quota places on offer, it won’t guarantee any of the top sides a place and each will need to earn their places. I wont be surprised if one of the big teams fail to qualify and one of the smaller cricketing nation makes it. I get er reason for having multiple quota places available at the final qualifying but then again it still doesn’t guarantee / or both . Could easily be / or even / / taking their places. Another way could be as suggested before , let the host take the quota of that confederation and that will free up an additional quota place at the final qualifier.
  8. That is an excellent distribution of quota places except I would add 1 more quota place to Asia and reduce 1 from last chance global qualifier .
  9. I thought this was not the case in last qualifying cycle. I looked up and found an article. In continental qualifiers, we qualified only 1 boat although we had 2 boats in qualifying positions, as a NOC is allowed to qualify only 1 boat from continental regatta. Has the rules changed for this term? https://www.espn.com/olympics/rowing/story/_/id/31403165/tokyo-2021-indian-rowers-arjun-lal-jat-arvind-singh-qualify-olympics-double-sculls-event?platform=amp
  10. 2-2 *Penalty kicks (4-5) This is an excellent result from our boys. They hardly got any training session together. Iraq are a much higher ranked and better side . They scored both their goals from penalties ( 2nd one is highly debatable). We managed to draw them in 90 mins. We are definitely improving. Good positive result.
  11. XD Final it is v So as expected takes the olympics quota in all 3 event at these asian championships. Men’s Team - Women’s Team - XD-
  12. Ok ,that may be the case. I did read the qualifying document and after tallying up the latest rankings I found ONLY Esow qualifying in Keirin (can double up in sprint) as the 7th individual quota rider through his rankings. It could be an inflated ranking as you say. But since lot of the top riders already qualify through team quota & sprint individual quota I found him taking the 7th quota behind & Anyways, there is a long way to go & If I remember correctly the rider from was really close behind , so might overtake Esow. Thanks for the ranking updates, will tally closer to cutoff date again.
  13. PPV plan for each evening session for SF & final is priced at €4 . I was so looking forward to these championships , now depending on results I might go for the PPV plan . With the team we are sending , I don’t expect more than 2/3 making it to the SFs . Perhaps 1/2 in olympic category.
  14. We have Bridge in the Asian games with events in pairs & teams : men’s , women’s & mixed category. actually won 1 🥇 & 2 🥉 at the last asian games. I am all in for Bridge
  15. For the continental qualifiers is it one boat each gender for each NOC or overall only one boat for each NOC?
  16. Still a fair few months to go , but do you think Esow can qualify through rankings in Keirin (also doubling up in sprint) ?
  17. So, basically there is some hard bargaining going on between both sides & no mutual agreement yet!
  18. Your senior team has 2 home games for euro qualifiers, you can attend those.
  19. 3-0 ( Good fight by 2 of the matches went to 5 games) Secures olympic quota in Men’s Team event. XD SF 3-2 3-0
  20. Men’s Team Final V Winner gets the olympics quota.
  21. Men’s team lost to 0-3 in SF. With that our quest for qualification ends in this championships. We still have singles & doubles events to go in this Asian championships.
  22. Both XD pairing are out in R32 . Manika/Sathiyan lost to the pair. Their high rankings in XD is not worthy of their performance here.
  23. There you go, you got a sport(if at all it can be called a sport) in Olympics which most people haven’t got a clue about, including myself. I am not sure we would be even discussing Breaking if it was not part of the Olympics programme . Cricket in its new format (T20) will get a lot of traction , if included in the Olympics. Am not a Cricket fan but if given the choice I would much rather watch a T20 match of Cricket than a breaking session. Apart from the revenue it will generate for IOC & LOC. It will also help the sport become truly global with more countries taking the sport seriously. Well we will find out in 4 days time , if Cricket is included or not. But if USA wants to develop a cricket league in their country , Cricket inclusion will make sense for LA LOC .
  24. has not sent a team too. Our Rowing federation had governance issues previously and most rowers are from our Army/navy . They want to concentrate on the Asian Games so decided against sending a team for world championships which offers quota places ! I guess they evaluated we don’t stand a chance to win a quota place in these world championships so better to concentrate on the Asian Games ( we are sending a full team) where we might win medals , possibly Gold as well.
