  1. There could be a huge queue of top wrestlers trying to qualify from Asian qualifiers next year. Asian wrestlers qualified so far: 57 Kg - only ( Rest of the 4 quotas were taken by European nations) 65 Kg- Yet to finish ( but 2 finalists are European, Perhaps &/ may get 1/2 of the other 3 quotas . 74 Kg- Again only ( 3 out of the other 4 quotas were taken by Europeans & 1 by USA) 86 Kg- , & ( 3 out of 5 quotas to asian countries) This is the best weight in terms of results for Deepak Punia to get the quota in asian qualifiers. 97 Kg- Yet to finish but most certainly will be only ( 3 quotas are yet to be awarded & there is a wrestler in contention but he has next to no chance against Snyder or Sadulaev) 125 Kg- Only ( 3 of the other 4 quotas were taken by Europeans and 1 by USA) In summary , it will be tough to even qualify wrestlers from the asian qualifiers with only 2 quotas available. One bad drawn & there wont be any chance through repechage.
  2. @phelps can you answer this please. In Group G do we stand a chance to qualify an individual in Eventing?
  3. Men’s FS competition is drawing to a close , it has not just been a terrible world championships for us ( which was expected) but results in terms up qualification has not favoured us too. Looking bleak for our wrestling team Let’s hope in Women’s FS even if our girls don’t get quota other Asian countries do.
  4. We have men’s ⚽️ vs ( Our team reached China today evening without any practice session ) & Men’s 🏐 vs Don’t know where to follow for live results and score updates
  5. For 19th(Tomorrow) You have ⚽️ match vs & Beach Volleyball 🏐 Preliminary matches ( match schedule for which is not available )
  6. Am currently in EU , can’t find any broadcasters with AG in it.
  7. Tomorrow we start our AG campaign with men’s ⚽️ vs hosts China & Men’s 🏐 vs Cambodia Is the official website up & running with schedule& results? Which website you guys will follow for results? Also @Prashanth how will you watch AG outside India? Could you please share International broadcaster details if you have? Will it be streamed outside Asia? I might have to depend on websites for scores & updates! Heres to a successful Asian Games campaign, may this be our best ever AG. Hoping for medals 🥇 🥈 🥉, good performances , achieving PB/NR & finally topping up with a fair few Olympic quota places . C’mon Team
  8. Could have been worse are ranked 44th
  9. Yes, I just counted back W5 L6 = -1 W6 L8 = -2 W3 L6 = -3 has the quota ! Congratulations @Josh
  10. Won 1 match (3-0) , lost 2-3 & 0-3 Won 1 match ( 3-2) but lost 2-3 & 1-3 Won 1 match (3-1) but lost both matches 0-3 . It should be winning the quota , isn’t it?
  11. It was so tight , came down to games won . All 3 had won 1 match each . It is always better to have a knockout format to avoid such complexity.
  12. Men’ s FS 86 KG Quota places : & Men’s FS 125 KG Quota places : & # (# will gain a quota if re-allocation happens)
  13. Men’s Team Final : 3-1 Sweden qualify 1 quota in men’s team (3 athletes) to Paris Olympics
  14. has qualified its first athlete for Paris Olympics. Myles Nazem Amine achieved qualification in Men’s 86kg FS wrestling at the ongoing Wrestling world championships.
  15. Now with athletes from & being allowed to compete in qualification events under AIN banner & them winning quota places, it is high time IOC must come clean on this issue and not drag on. Either they make a statement/ press release on this issue or sports federations make a clear statement on allocation/ reallocation of quotas won by AIN athletes. With just 10 months left for Olympics and qualification in most sports well underway , there needs to be clarity in this issues.
  16. Abhimanyu won his repechage & will fight for Bronze vs Andreasyan in 70 kg (non-Olympic weight) Edit: Lost his bout
  17. Theoretically yes, but the only strong team among those 4 is They will almost certainly get the quota here , the other 3 are not ranked high enough to get the quota place by ranking . Even getting a quota at world team championships will be tough for them. This is their best opportunity to get that quota with going out in the QF stage.
  18. & qualify for the Final group stage in Men’s Team . 2 out of these 4 will secure quota places for Paris Olympics
  19. Men’s Team Final : V Women’s Team Final : V
  20. Can you do a summary for non-olympic weights please. Will be good to know , what to make of the competition in those weights & who will medal in those categories. Thanks!
  21. Why would they have round robin after QF in a knockout format? Very strange way to conduct a championship perhaps the only confederation with a round robin format. The 2 quotas are justified as ITTF previously had a North American & South American confederation, which offered a single quota each. So by merging the two confederation into 1 they kept the same quota place. ITTF must think about merging Oceania with Asia/Africa like some sports do, that way will need to earn their quota place rather than getting a free quota and Asia/Africa teams will get to fight for an additional quota place.
  22. Abhimanyu will fight in repechage against Akhmedov for a place in the bronze medal match.
  23. Abhimanyu lost in QF to Retherford will have to wait to see if he can get chance in repechage . The other 3 wrestlers don’t have any chance as none of the wrestlers they lost to made SF.
  24. Wrestling world championships starts today in Belgrade which is also an olympic qualification event ( Top 5 in each weight class) Today’s schedule: Men’s FS : 61, 70, 86* & 125* kgs (* olympic weight class) There was a time when we used to be excited & expecting our wrestlers to medal at worlds & get quotas.Current scenario is bleak, lets hope for good performances and some surprise results! Maybe a quota or two
  25. We should win the tie & progress to promotion playoffs hopefully.
