  1. Even worse, it’s not as if it’s “only” hundreds of comments, it’s THOUSANDS of comments. Slightly glad (somewhat), that they didn’t win, I’m sure it would’ve gotten worse.
  2. Rylan Wiens and Nathan Zsombor-Murray are through to the men’s 10m platform final!
  3. So to recap today’s medal chances, men’s 800m final, women’s 4x400m relay final, Philip Kim in breaking, Katie Vincent and Sophia Jensen in women’s C1-200m, and maybe an extremely outside chance for one of Rylan Wiens/Nathan Zsombor-Murray in the men’s 10m platform final, but first they need to advance past the semifinals.
  4. Arop isn’t an expected medal, based off of the recent Diamond League performances by his competitors.
  5. Well for Canada we can never seem to escape them (this has been going on for many Olympics in a row), hence why there’s some frustration. I mean, we’re even 4th in 4th place finishes. Personally, I choose to remember both the good and bad moments equally, as neither outweigh the other.
  6. Today was a good, but not a great day. Highlight was obviously our men’s 4x100m relay winning gold to upgrade from their bronze in Rio 2016 and silver in Tokyo 2020. Katie Vincent/Sloan MacKenzie won bronze in women’s C2-500m (came in as the favourites for silver) after being in second for the majority of the race, a medal is a medal though. Melissa and Brandie fell just shy in the women’s beach volleyball gold medal match, losing to Duda/Ana Patricia in 3, but if you’d have told me before the Olympics began that they’d make it to this point, I wouldn’t have believed you. Really proud of them. Kelsey Mitchell advanced to the 1/8th finals in women’s sprint, Nathan Zsombor-Murray and Rylan Wiens advanced to the semifinals in men’s 10m platform, Mariam Abdul-Rashid’s PB of 12.60 in the women’s 100m hurdles semifinals, and Arop advancing to the final in men’s 800m were other highlights. Off the top of my head there was only one disappointment, and unfortunately it was a big one with Sarah Mitton bombed out of the women’s shot put final in wet weather conditions. Another medal contender failing to convert.
  7. Are you not going to answer the question? Alright then. Edit: Sorry for the tone, I just feel like I’m always getting 3v1’d. It’s tiring.
  8. I feel so bad for Brandie. Her comments on Instagram are getting BOMBARDED by the Brazilians with hate comments…
  9. Ah thanks, I was just assuming since he seems to get lots of love on social media, glad to see that I’m wrong You can’t deny though that Brazilian fans are sometimes (and more so than other countries) toxic right? Not all of them of course, though when it comes to volleyball, and the Turkish fans against Brazilian fans, it can get pretty messy. Speaking of which, how exactly did it start? I never got the backstory.
  10. You know what, maybe it was a bad idea to mention that. I’ll just keep all my thoughts on her to myself, it’s kind of hard though.
  11. Ana Patricia initiated the argument, and Brandie was the only one to say anything kind (or anything at all really) after the match. In YEARS of watching Brandie play I rarely ever see her get heated like this, can’t exactly say the same for AP. On social media, and in general (not talking about you or any of the users on here by the way) I’ve noticed that Brazilians are some of the most insufferable sporting fans ever, and seem to care more about the result than anything. Take Seyboth-Wild for example, who has domestic abuse allegations against him, has made comments about having “nazi roots” and yet he still gets support from the fans. Not sure how many fans she would have if she wasn’t Brazilian… Anyways, I’ll probably get ganged up on by all the Brazilians on here, but whatever, just needed to let it all out
  12. Fuck it, I know it’s extremely unlikely, but I really hope neither retire and this pairing can stay together for one final Olympics. I just love them both so much
