  1. Leylah Fernandez gets her AO24 campaign off and running with a 7-6(5), 6-2 win over young rising Czech star Sara Bejlek in the R128!
  2. My Vancouver Canucks improve to 29-11-3 (61 pts) after a 1-0 win over the Buffalo Sabres, and are back to first in the league! 5th win in a row for the Canucks, and a 5-1-0 record on a seven game road trip! Thatcher Demko records a 25 save shut-out, for his 4th of the season (22-8-1 record on .919 SV% in 23/24). Sam Lafferty with his 10th goal of the season (at 2Q’ 17:55) for the game winner. Some more cool stats for everyone, Canucks are now 26-0-0 (!! yes you heard me right) when leading after two periods, and 9-1-1 when Lafferty scores a goal.
  3. Natasha Wodak will attempt to breach the women’s marathon OQS at the Houston Marathon tomorrow, likely her final attempt.
  4. Go Really want to see them make their Olympic debut.
  5. Here’s a more detailed article on the matter: https://nationalpost.com/opinion/chris-selley-an-elite-surfer-finally-gets-rightful-canadian-citizenship-other-lost-canadians-keep-waiting/wcm/80d7ce54-ab53-4eaa-bd91-eefb9cea8476/amp/
  6. BEST. NEWS. EVER. Assuming she qualifies as expected, she could even be a dark horse for a medal.

  8. Jessica Guo wins bronze at the women’s foil WC in Paris!
  9. Not a great result from a Canadian perspective, hopefully we’ll be able to beat Italy for the second quota at World Championships.
  10. wins 7-6 over in the bronze medal match, booking their ticket to Paris in the process!
  11. leads 7-6 with just over three minutes to go…
  12. I’m sorry, but no, you haven’t given yourself “a decent chance at a Paris quota” with your performance here. Awesome for Great Britain to qualify for Worlds, and a bit of a surprise to see them beat Israel, but you got demolished in your only match against a quota contending team (Hungary) Frankly, I would be highly surprised if they ended up over even one of Hungary, Italy/Greece, and Canada.
  13. I hadn’t realized we still haven’t won an Olympic medal in fencing. Eleanor Harvey and Jessica Guo are contenders in women’s foil. Cordano Russell also has a chance in men’s street skateboarding, although he isn’t one of the favourites as of now despite his 4th at Worlds. Overall, between surfing, fencing, judo, 3x3 basketball, breaking, and skateboarding, I’m thinking medals in 2 new sports (3x3 basketball/breaking), and a first ever Olympic gold in judo.
  14. Parallel Giant Slalom WC Scuol | Scuol, Switzerland Men Gold- Benjamin Karl Silver- Tim Mastnak Bronze- Andreas Prommegger Women Gold- Lucia Dalmasso Silver- Jasmin Coratti Bronze- Miki Tsubaki Full Results

  20. I know we probably won’t match our total from Tokyo 2020, 380+ is an unrealistic number, but just over 300 sounds a little low even with the reduced athlete cap. I think we’ll qualify around 315 at the very least, but who knows.
