Very surprising result on the women’s side, with Bansley/Bukovec coming out of qualifying to win the silver medal beating some solid teams along the way (including a straight sets win over #1 seed Taina/Victoria in the quarterfinals) They’re most likely not going to be qualifying for Paris through the Olympic Rankings, but pretty much a shoe in for the NORCECA Olympic quota (hope these words don’t come back to bite me in the future ) considering the lack of beach volleyball depth in North America. Actually the only thing that’s stopping them from going to Paris is another Canadian pairing Pavan/McBain, but right now Bansley/Bukovec are a level above them.

  5. I saw that. Pretty dreadful mark this close to Paris, even if it is excusable. She’ll need to pick it up (probably start competing in a bunch of events as well) if she wants any chance of qualifying through the Olympic Ranking.

  24. Rylan Wiens/Nathan Zsombor-Murray win silver in men’s 10m synchro platform! They also managed to significantly improve on their scores from Doha (388.20) with 408.99! (+20.79)
