  1. Also, Malaika Mihambo contracted COVID after the European Championships, and will be absent at the German Championships (still expected to be at the Olympics)
  2. Christopher Lemaitre (athletics) https://x.com/TrackGazette/status/1806389938872562017
  3. take set 1 over 25-18 Maybe switch some of the players for the start of set 2 (Bednorz in?) Edit: Nope
  4. It’s not only about the record, but about their level of play, through not only here but the Olympic Qualifiers. Actually I might have been overreacting about the Japan game today, just disappointed.
  5. Brazil? Edit: OK… maybe you’re right on that Slovenia are realistic medal contenders IMO (although I’d agree that they’re a tier below, but I don’t think the gap is as big as you), and I think US should be a tier below Slovenia with Muagututia on their team. Germany (who have rested Krick and Grozer a lot) might be an outside chance, but they’ll need a lot of luck. And as for Canada, we’ll see…
  6. YESSSSSSSSS DAK IS BACK ON THE CANUCKS!!!!! $3.25m AAV/4 years. https://www.instagram.com/p/C8ujrEBNr1O/?igsh=cW0yODliMHl3N242
  7. How often have you watched our men’s team play? Just saying…
  8. Yeah this team has no chance at an Olympic medal…
  9. Not really surprising, both have said months ago that they wanted to go to the Olympics. But good to see that they’re keeping their word.
  10. Tennis team announced! https://www.instagram.com/p/C8uaBZXgKxX/?igsh=MXh4azJ5eWVndng0bQ== Raonic and Andresscu will both be at the Olympics.
  11. Amour not Armor Even that was disappointing honestly, there’s no real notable names that she beat to win the bronze.
  12. Jesse Lumsden (former Canadian Olympian) is now Canada’s high performance director. https://www.ibsf.org/en/news/detail/three-time-olympian-jesse-lumsden-to-lead-bobsleigh-canada-skeletons-high-performance-program
  13. I changed it because some users were starting to go off topic, but I agree Edit: Just not sure where the other replies are supposed to go
  14. Good move to clear some cap space. Now, let’s sign Zadorov, Joshua, and one of Necas/Guentzel (Myers is taking a pay cut for the team, Lindholm is probably gone unfortunately)
  15. Katzberg has mentioned that he’s pretty heavy into training, which makes his 82.60m throw even more impressive
  16. Jillian Weir will compete at a meet this weekend to try and improve her Road To Paris ranking. https://www.instagram.com/stories/jillianweir/3399385051697409464?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&igsh=OGI0a3I1d3NuNjR0
  17. Unfortunately, only through your time.
  18. Elaine Thompson-Herah (athletics) Reigning Olympic Champion in the women’s 100m and 200m. Small achilles tendon tear. https://x.com/TrackGazette/status/1806123081670258964
  19. Quite unlikely, there’s probably quite a few names that would be above her with that time.
  20. 82.60m for Ethan Katzberg in men’s hammer throw at the Canadian Olympic Trials Second farthest throw this year behind his 84.18m in Nairobi.
  21. They’re 15th and 18th in the rankings, and 32 go to the Olympics, so yup.
  22. Ethan Katzberg 80.51m for his 3rd championship record in a row in the men’s hammer throw final
  23. Doesn’t look like we’ll be sending a 2nd women’s hammer thrower to the Olympics 5 rounds in, and both Weir and Butler need around 71m at worst. Neither are anywhere near that mark.
