  2. Strangely, I first realised your profile picture was the gay bear flag when you mentioned it and I even see it every weekend when I'm down at my local gay bar. The flag is even very recognisable compared to many of the other flag of the LGBT+ community.
  3. Obviously, if you don't post a team again for the next World Cup, you are not out of BMG. As you write, you just keep the same team as you had in the last World Cup. However, it would make it easier for me to keep track of the different teams and transfers if managers would post their teams again in the latest transfer window. When I count points after a race, it's just much easier if all teams are in the same two pages, so I don't have to find a manager's team six or seven pages back from the rest. It sounds a bit lazy, I know, but very convenient for a person like me with not always much free time because of my studies and job.
  4. @africaboy, @toulousain, @heywoodu, @brunamoura, @Dunadan, @Federer91, @Vojthas, @Monzanator @hckosice, @IoNuTzZ, @Henry_Leon, @Agger, @RobtheAggie, @Kirkpatrick, @Olympian1010, @Ufilov Managers can now sell one or more biathletes on their team or buy one or more for their team. The transfer window closes when the first race in the next World Cup starts. Remember! Only 2 transfers per window and 12 in total per manager are allowed. If a manager violates the rules, he or she will lose points according to 3f in the BMG rulebook. Managers must post their team for the second World Cup before the deadline, December 13th, 11:30 (CET). Remember to hide your post! For more details on specific dates and times, see the calendar in the first post of this thread.

  6. To answer your questions: 1) As I wrote in the post, the normal process is one contest per month. But if me, or any other member in the Prediction Group, have the time to run a second contest that month then it would be great. The one contest per month rule is there because at the moment the Prediction Group only consist of me and Wanderer. Wanderer will not have so much time next year and I feel I can only promise the users here on Totallympics that I will be able to run one contest per month for the next year. I can't promise I will be able to run two every month or three in some. I think it's important we update the provisional standing every time a day has been completed in that event. The participants will have a much better chance to follow where they are placed in the contest and we in the Prediction Group hope this will encourage more participants to post predictions through the whole contest. We prefer to have one contest where we are able to post updates from it every match/competition day, instead of two or three contests where we forget or don't have the time to update every match/competition day. Quality over quantity. 2) We basically already choose the same event every year. With your biathlon example, your assumption is likely correct. As many users here on the forum have a great passion for biathlon, they would much likely choose the WCH Biathlon every year. The contest would have many participants which I think is a good thing. Most likely, a prediction contest for the Nordic Ski WCH will also receive many votes. In that case, the Prediction Group will do its best to have a prediction contest for it if the users on Totallympics show great interest for one. To sum up. In the current situation, we, me and Wanderer, feel we can deliver high quality prediction contests if we stick to one contest per month. This is what is possible in our lives at the moment. If the Prediction Group get more members who are willing to run contests on their own, we will likely have more prediction contests. Of course me and Wanderer will try our best to help a new manager. I hope you understand my points and why we in the Prediction Group choose to do so in the current situation. We also thank for any help you and Vojtas can provide.
  7. Yep, but as expected, only Team Slovenia in Women's Relay tomorrow.
  8. I made a mistake in the list. Men's and Women's European Water Polo Championships is in January. I had written handball twice.
  9. As 2019 is coming to an end and 2020 is about to start, it would be a fitting time to look back at the year 2019 in Totallympics Prediction Contest and what the 2020 Totallympics Prediction Contest season brings. 2019 was a busy year for the participants in Totallympics Prediction Contest with many world and continental championships. Totallympics Prediction Group would like to thank all users who have shown their interest in the many prediction contests this year. We can also annnounce the final general standing of the 2019 Totallympics Prediction Contest season will be published between Christmas and New Year. 2020 is a special year for almost all users here on Totallympics, as it's an Olympic year. An Olympic year also means many prediction and betting contests for Tokyo 2020, so July and August are going to be two active months for the Totallympics Prediction Contest participants and the Prediction Group. On that matter, the Prediction Group hopes to recruit a couple more members to its group in 2020. If you have an interest to join, send a PM to me and Wanderer. If you have good experience working with Excel, it would be a big plus, as we want to improve our current spreadsheets. If you are person with many ideas for prediction or other contests, you are very welcome to send a PM, as we could probably need a person like you. A new year often marks a time of changes. The year 2020 in Totallympics Prediction Contest will see some changes. As many of you have noticed, it's me, Wumo, who have been writing this recap and update from the Prediction Group. @Wanderer has decided to step down from his position as Totallympics Prediction Manager on regular basis. I think it would be best @Wanderer explains the reason for his decision himself. @Wanderer will still be an active member of the Prediction Group, as his experience with running prediction contests is a big asset for the group. As we are still not certain how many members the Prediction Group will have in 2020, the Prediction Group has decided to reduce the number of prediction contests to maximum 1 per month. However, if a member of the Prediction Group, beside me, has the time to run a prediction contest, it could be possible we would have 2 contests in a month. But the usual procedure would be 1 contest per month. Of course prediction contests for Tokyo 2020 will be an exception to the forementioned. As a new initiative, the Prediction Group will try its best to get the users here on Totallympics more involved in the selection process. Every month the users will vote for the prediction contest in the upcoming month. The Prediction Group will create a poll every month in the Totallympics Prediction Contests section. Users will have a fixed number of votes depending on the amount of suggested events for the month. If there are two suggested events in January, users will have 2 votes. In case of three events, users will have 2 votes. Four events then 3 votes per user and so forth. Users are not forced to use all of their votes. They can choose to vote for one or no event. The event with most votes in the poll that month will have a prediction contest the upcoming month. Usually a poll ends the last day of the month. So the poll for the prediction contest in February will end January 31st. In case an event happens in the first week of a month, the poll will close at an early time in the previous month. So with February it could be January 24th the poll would close. Here is a current list of suggested events for 2020: Users can suggest events which are not included on the current list. Users must submit their suggestions in the Totallympics Discussion thread no later than the 12th in a month to have them in a poll. Example: Your suggested event is in May. You must submit your suggested event before April 13th. The deadline would be April 12th, 23:59 (GMT). Feel free to already suggest any prediction or betting contest you want to have for Tokyo 2020. The list above with suggested events will be in the first post of the Calendar, Suggested Events & General Standings 2020 thread when it opens. The list will be updated with users' suggestions as they come. Users now also have an opportunity to propose changes of the point systems or anything related to the prediction contests. It could be highering or lowering the basic number of points in the different team prediction contests? More or less bonus point systems? Different point system for medallists? Or what ever comes to your mind. As long as it has to do with Totallympics Prediction Contests, you are welcome to suggest and discuss it for the next couple of weeks. This was a rather long and informative post. I hope you have understood most of it. If not all, just write your questions down below and I will try to answer them. That's all from me, Wumo
  10. The reason for the high price is because they bought the rights to show most matches from the Premier League. "Funnily" enough, this Summer they lost the rights to show any matches from the Premier League, but they haven't lowered the price and I think they have no intention to due so.
  11. I know. I don't actually have Eurosport Player anymore. The Danish version is notorious for its many technical issues. You can watch HBO and Netflix with out much lagging, but when you use Eurosport player it's lagging as f***. Sometimes you can't watch programs live because "We experience technical issue at the moment". It's beyond my comprehension why Eurosport Player doesn't work probably here in Denmark. Of course this is what I have experienced with the service, but I do know a couple more people who have tried Eurosport Player and they experience some of the same technical issues. It costs 17.30 Euros per month or 132.50 Euros for a year. For that price, it should work properly. I'm curious to know if Eurosport player works better in the Netherlands?
  12. I always enjoy watching races on Birds of Prey. Such a great course. Unfortunately I can't watch tomorrows' Downhill live due to work.

  17. Thomas Aasen Markeng will likely not compete in Nizhny Tagil this week. The reason is he forgot to renew his passport. His passport expires in May. However, to obtain a legal visa to Russia, your passport must not expire 6 months from entering the country. The Norwegian federation had sent out a message to all jumpers about this, but Markeng had apparently forgot to check his passport. He thought his visa was legal like everybody else's. He says no one can be blamed except himself. He will try to obtain a temporary passport so he can compete in Sunday's qualification.
