Now that the 2021 TISC season has come to and end I thought I would share a little update on how the 2021 entries shaped the overall TISC All-Time Top 40. The Top 40 list is based on points-per-jury (PPJ) averages and is an elite ranking of the songs that scored big amongst our interntional juries. I am happy to report that all 6 medal winning entries from both contests this year made it into the Overall Top 40. However, it was the 2021 Open Contest medalists who made the biggest impact on the Overall Top 40 with Czech Republic's Lenny making it all the way up to number 12 in the chart. The TISC Annual Top 40 chart will be played in the TISC Annual 2022 thread in the days preceding the live show and a similar airing of the TISC Open Top 40 chart is planned for the TISC Open 2022 later in the year. Then as part of the 20th edition celebrations in 2023 a special Hot 100 Chart will be compiled showcasing the overall Top 100 of all time.

COOP FIS Cross-Country World Cup in Les Rousses (FRA) cancelled Because of growing concerns to hold international events in the current pandemic situation and the virulence of the Omicron variant, the organizing committee of Les Rousses (FRA), the French Ski Federation and the National Authorities took the decision to cancel the FIS Cross-Country World Cup that was scheduled to take place from 14th to 16th January 2021. Despite all efforts, the changing restrictions and new regulations coming did not guarantee the safety of all stakeholders and therefore the decision was taken in advance.

Ah yeah, completely forgot this was in the stupid mass start format That makes the whole stage so much more boring and, in case of a tight fight for the overall, hard to follow. Bring back the pursuit

by the way, Cortina will host only the women's alpine skiing...the men's events will be held in Bormio (which is way better than Cortina in terms of speed races's tracks)... that's almost offensive... we're not existing in those non-sport freestyle activities, but we're one of the few nations having (a few, I must admit) medal chances (or being close to them) in almost every true Winter sport... not bad for a country that only care of Winter sports in less than 10% of their people and territories... not to mention that we have some of the most iconic venues for Wintersports, where the athletes will be able to compete without having to cope with farcical tracks (especially those practicing the snow sports)...

I love Dutch speed skating. Now Roest is pissed because they put Bosker in the 1500m instead of him (since Bosker had to do an individual event in order to be eligible for the team pursuit....which could and arguably should have been the mass start, but they gave that spot to Kramer to 'scare' the competition ) Roest, Bosker and Kramer are all actual teammates, mind you. And Bergsma's coach is also pissed because the second mass start spot wasn't automatically given to one of his riders a year before the Olympics (Arjan Stroetinga).

Kamil Stoch has been pulled from the Four Hills after finishing 59th in Innsbruck quals. This is only the second time since qualifying was introduced in 1990 that a defending FH champion failed to qualify for one of the rounds (Sigurd Pettersen in Oberstdorf 2004 was the previous one). Overall this shapes up to be a total disaster come Beijing WOG. One might assume Natalia Maliszewska in short track suddenly looms as our biggest medal hope.
