Going from 12th out of 12 at London 2012, to 11th out of 24 in 2015. Weren't there a lot weaker teams at the World Cup? I remember them playing against godawful Ecuador for example, who were really, truly, terrifyingly bad. But sure, they did seem to have improved a little (Cameroon, that is). If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! They defeated Switzerland, and lost to only by one goal each... Edited November 4, 2019 by dcro #banbestmen

What's the stade of handball or volleyball in the UK in 2019 ? Waste of a quota if you ask me... Meanwhile, they have a good chance to make a comeback in women's basketball. #banbestmen

Their only previous championships, according to Wikipedia, were 2011 Europeans, and surely that was already the Olympic effect in motion. heywoodu 1 #banbestmen

dcro 10,182 Posted November 4, 2019 #187 Share Posted November 4, 2019 But anyway, host quotas are most definitely not a waste. Korean women's team started existing around Seoul 1988. What happened to Spain after Barcelona 1992 is completely of the charts. And so on... #banbestmen

China M Ice Hockey direct host quota for the Winter Olympics is the biggest free wasted quota joke and farce the Olympics ever experienced. The Chinese ice hockey officialls will have to explain to their nations leaders a lot after the games, because this will be one galactical humiliation of the country infront of the whole world. Ghana/Namibia and other African nations tell South Africa: Enough is enough. If you don't want to take use of continental quota stop participating in continental qualifiers. If Ghana would have won the African qualifiers, their ranking would not have come in picture. That would be a good solution in all sports and for all world and continental qualifiers that are not world or continental championships but you need IFs and the IOC to enforce it, with the threat of a long ban.
