Ruka (and in some degrees also Lahti) are the least reliable NC/SJ hills in the world...you can count the "clean" competitions held in those places in the last 20 years with your fingers... dcro 10,189 Posted November 29, 2019 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2019 I used to always promise myself at the beginning of the season that I will follow every single race. I never saw it through though. So for the good old times - Let's watch every race this season. #banbestmen
phelps 6,953 Posted November 29, 2019 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2019 (edited) first race of the season...first sweep of the season... Nordic Combined definitely doesn't like mixing it up in terms of top Nations... by the way, very good start of the season for Italy...Costa looks back to the form he had before that butal injury of 2 years ago, Kostner is improving steadily, Pittin...well, he's always the good old usual Pittin...a true disaster from the hill, by far the best skier on the circuit... I always remember Pittin from the Torino Olympics. At that time, the NC Ski Jump was the very first event of the Games after the Friday night opener. In NC Olympics, the jumpers go in the World Cup points order. So the Italians selected Pittin, their best junior Combiner for the team. Because he had no WC points, he was the first competitor of the whole Olympics.
Gianlu33 3,616 Posted November 30, 2019 #9 Share Posted November 30, 2019 The usually hard weather conditions in Ruka. No anyone expected this, right?
