If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

Popovici just finished 47.30s with WL today. Big congrats and please send the recipe to Chinese men’s team ASAP. Ours doesn’t work any longer and we are eager to improve 1s faster in 15 days.

Still no list of OST qualified swimmers?

Considering that none of the 4 Hungarian OST swimmers qualified, I think the number of OST qualifiers might be really small.

not talking of 'roids...

there are also other "treatments" that might benefit a swimmer...

however, I only wrote that such kind of improvement looks at least unusual -let's put it that way...not that is surely a cheater...and I really hope he's just a super-talent...but I've seen too many outstanding performances being "downgraded", to put my hand on a fire and say I'm sure, he's clean at 100%

This make more sense, but:

1. Did you check out the link to this evening's performance? does David look beefed up?

2. Do you agree with my economic argument? Romania is one of the poorest countries in Europe and funding to scientific research is practically non-existent; do you honestly think that some high-tech doping treatment would come exactly from Romania?

3. "I've seen too many outstanding performances being downgraded" - I've seen them too; let's just think for a moment where did they come from

4. David is a genuine talent, well-known by the swimming professionals; he won gold in Olympic Youth Festival 2019 and has been steadily  improving since. Our user OlympicsFan predicted David will make the Olympic final, before these amazing performances at EJ. I would've expected technical comments from you, regarding his style & his stroke, not skepticism based on the fact that others have been proven cheaters

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

David Popovici is amazing. I hope he takes gold in Tokyo. Very rare for a young male swimmer to have so much early success.

We maybe seeing the greatest swimmer since Michael Phelps in the making.

Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA

    • impossible, there are not enough venues in both towns and I mean, Milan doesn't have an Olympic Stadium, a decent Tennis Complex and a big Swimming Complex (not to mention the sea) Rome, on the other hand, doesn't have a Rowing/Canoeing Basin nor arenas and stadiums for the team sports beyond football and rugby there's no chance that all those venues would be built from scratch, meanwhile if we use both cities we already have almost everything we need, especially the most expensive and controversial sites

She wasn’t a top-tier athlete in that program anymore. She was at the end of her career. I would personally would rather race against Katie. She’s not as competitive as the other athletes,” he said. “It’s probably really unfair to say and not really where I want to go with this but that’s where we are with that.”   Uhlaender: “If I were Canada, I would be concerned in how this coach is representing the Olympic values for his country,” Uhlaender told Fox News Digital. “He hurt a whole field of athletes, all with dreams, and this sends the message that they don’t matter unless they are number one. All athletes matter, and we all deserve to compete fairly, with integrity, and respect. He did not respect anyone in that field. “This is not about my resume or how good the athletes were in the race. This is about the fact that he intentionally manipulated the competition to hurt myself and 13 other countries because he felt it necessary to eliminate all possibility. That is against the spirit of sport and not what the Olympic movement represents.”   Isn't it great when other people's dirty laundry is aired?  /sarcasm     (I was a little surprised to see NPR pick this up, but per this article, Uhlaender preemptively recorded the phone call after receiving a text from Cecchini that said he had 'bad news' for her.)
