Ideally they'd get rid of Olympic tennis all the way and use the quotas to make existing sports better and more competitive

For what it is worth I don't think British no.1 Dan Evans will play either. He turned down an invite in 2016.

If he withdraws, which is likely but not sure, I am quite sure that he wouldn't be the last  player refusing the quota.

I don't understand some of these players. They have no national pride?

 

At least Thiem is big and won a Grand Slam. For some of the low ranked players who skip, what is their reason? Wouldn't being in the Olympics be a career highlight for them? I just don't understand it!

Think this is just because of covid and because it's in Japan. Attendance to Paris will be great most likely regardless of points, only clay haters will skip.
