When will World Athletics update qualification status based on withdrawals?

They have already closed the ranking last week. Any eventual withdrawals should be replaced by next in line athletes, pending their respective NOC confirm the spot and athlete.

So the update will not come on the Road to Tokyo website?

One of the sadder 'doping' stories recently, I'd say. First things first, it is entirely her own fault and nothing can take that away, but it's only human to not be able to deal with the death of a parent and lose control over yourself in a way that's perfectly fine for a non-athlete, but sadly not for an athlete.

One of the few cases in which I can actually feel some sympathy for someone who tested positive (same with a lot of East German and Soviet athletes who were doped/drugged from when they were only teenagers), even though like I said it is of course 100% on her and her punishment is sad, but correct.

:JAM Omar McLeod didn't make the team. Apparently the Jamaican champs final was held at 8 am local time? :coffee:

Sad at it may be, that is a rather weak bit of reacting from McLeod....I mean, surely he didn't run his semifinal the night before alone, and surely he wasn't the only person running the early morning final?

I don’t think I was given or granted a fair opportunity to make the team with this ridiculous schedule

How about those who did make it? All of those athletes had to run their final in the morning, and probably knew so beforehand...

    • Today is a day without Italians in the leads positions. I`m worried that they are not trying to revive this our sprint. There is only one Bosa and he is old. Pergher is young but she is also only one. It is a pity. After the Olympics they will probably 100% give up on the entire sprint. Our medal bag in Cortina will depend 90% on Ghiotto, just like it did on Fabris in Turin 2006. If Ghiotto will be in goodshape, he can even win 2 individual golds + a team medal. If not, it will be a flop. Apart from him, only Lollobrigida can compete in the mass start and possibly Giovannini in the men's mass start.
