LOL this is fight of hundreds of years

Isn't LOL a bit outdated?
But it's always so magnificent how you know everything about everything. Yes, the conflict is pretty old, but does that make it okay to use an anthem from one of the darkest times in Spanish history (in which Catalonia was pretty oppressed)

No, 80% of the Catalonians want the independence referendum to happend. But that doesn't mean that they all support independence.

To be honest I really think that if the referendum was made, NO will win. It's a feeling we all got here in Spain (even pro independece catalonians, that's why they are making the referendum today, cause it's looking bad for them next elections and they are in danger of losing the power, they had a slight mayority in the catalonia parlament now), but the spanish goverment is just plain stupid and they are using police brutality to stop something it was been seeing as a joke to the rest of the country and raging all spanish people.

Like, I'm not from Catalonia, I'm basque (another part of Spain that has battle a lot for independence, sadly know by terrorist group ETA) and I'm pro-Spain but all this bullshit the president and the ministers are doing is really taking my nerves and I'm siding with pro-referendum now.

Well, I maybe misinterpreting something, but according to the Original Source, 80% of people certain to vote want independence http://www.thenational.scot/news/15567874.Huge_upsurge_in_support_for_independence_is_revealed_in_world_exclusive_final_Catalan_poll/

That's the thing. This voting was a joke since the beggining and literally no one was going to take the results seriously, but the stupid president decided to use police and now all the world is talking about palice brutality against democracy in Spain instead of talking of the Catalonians politiancs going against the law to pursue their personal agenda.

    • Some notable  retirements:   Elisavet Pesiridou (athletics - 100m hurdles) - She announced her retirement on her 34th birthday. She competed in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. She narrowly missed Paris 2024 despite being in good form, the rest of he field seemed to get stronger and her ranking was a bit lower even though she was quite consistent. She struggled with injuries in 2025.   Fani Tzeli (taekwondo) - She was 7th in Tokyo 2020 but didn't qualify for Paris 2024. Still, she is only 24 yo and seemed to be rising up again after winning bronze at the European Championships so it is a bit surprising.   Aikaterini Divari (sailing) - She competed in Tokyo 2020 but didn't qualify for Paris 2024. Only 25 yo.   AJ Ginnis (alpine skiing) - Despite winning a silver at the World Championships he never got to compete at the Winter Olympics as he was always unfortunately injured. A shame as he is by far our best winter athlete ever. Only 31 yo, and I have a feeling he might come back in 2030 based on his last interview...

    • Well.  Having gotten it a bit at a distance a few comments about my experiences   Travel: Very happy. Flying to and from was a breeze (the plane home slighty delayed). The same can be said about getting around in Milano. Getting around outside was of course slightly harder, especially with some delays back from Antholx (but i guess that's not a big surprise when a lot of people leave a place in the mountains)   Atmosphere: Very happy around the venues, but it's also very clear that it's smaller than the Summer games. People weren't following the events wherever you went. Alcohol certainly made a difference between Paris and now. Sadly did experience a few who should certainly have stopped a couple of beers earlier.    The logistics at the venues:  Very easy to see that Santagiulia is new and absolutely not a perfect venue. Seems like some kinks were fixed when I got there, but there's still stuff to work out. The food at the Milano venues were meh and there were quite some lines. Tesero was a chaos when it came to getting food, but the quality was slightly better at the skiing venues.
