Cross-Country Skiing at the Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022

:SUI:JPN:SLO declined. :KAZ:SVK:BLR have outstanding offers.

Pretty much now or never for Brazil. Two more nations would have to decline.

Then Brazil's chances for a third women's ticket could have possibly improved due to nobody contacting the Slovaks and Sara Ponya? :p

To be fair, I do think the Slovaks would have seen it and I do think Sara Ponya had plans for the Lebanon races anyway, so no worries :p

Italy will use only 6 of their 7 quota in women's CC skiing...:yikes:

I think it's the first time we reject quota places despite having enough eligible athletes in the more crowded winter sports (in ski jumping we rejected 1 of the 3 quota places only because we don't have a 3rd jumper to send to China)...

Still no answer from Belarus. Maybe Mr President pulled the plug on the internet?

In any case, don't try to contact them...

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)
