What does "not like in first 2 races conditions were really good" mean?

The best are able to adapt to all conditions, but thats not the point. If the wind is so strong that basically noone finishes with a clean sheet then something is wrong. Wierer going from 1st to 10th to 1st was almost comical.

if i remember conditions were not so great in the beginning of olympics, i could be wrong anyway

biathlon is not only about clean shooting

I think the conditions were far far better than today, but womens individual had to be postponed due to strong wind. Of course biathlon is not only about clean shooting, but what do you mean with that in this context?

Anyway race was one of the best events of these Olympics, and maybe German coaches made mistake not puting Dahlmeir as first to give confidence to other girls.

Its your opinion that this was one of the best events, of course easy to say when your country isnt involved, for me noone who likes fair sport could have really liked it. It wasnt a mistake to not put Dahlmeier first, but it was to not put Hinz first like in basically all the world cups that Germany won. I think the best athletes/teams should get rewarded at the olympics, it clearly didnt happen today so i could never be happy about this result. I said the same about many other events where it wasnt about Germany, but i guess people will still say that i am only saying that because Germany didnt win ...

Of course people will say that this had nothing to do with the conditions, but for me a nation that won 7 of the last 8 world cups, not even coming close to a medal here, in an event that isnt very competitive leaves only one possible conclusion. Most people here are always happy about results like that because their own nation isnt involved, so its not surprising that most people dont agree, they only care about entertainment and want to see surprising results instead of deserved winners.

I recorded the race and WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST WATCH.

Ofc this result doesn't represent the strength of the teams but still it was hilarious. Wierer going from first to tenth and back to first, Finland for a moment looked like they could end makarainen's olympic nightmare, freakin poland leads at the last exchange, Öberg wins silver after Sweden completely fucked up the first 3/4 of their race. Domracheva almost gives away gold but rescues it with her three final shots. This race had so many crazy moments it's unbelievable

Anna Magnusson gained about half a minute on the lead

No doubt Öberg was the main reason for the medal, but Magnusson did pretty well especially by doing great on the 2nd shooting.

    • Kudos to you bud, I don't think anyone was happy with the performance by Canada all tournament, but we all stayed on until the end. Take as much time as you need.
    • As new sports I would add cyclocross with the condition it needs to be contested on snow. I would add ice climbing in speed and lead events. I would add freeride ski and snowboard. For new events I would add team sprint events in speed skating, women's Nordic combined, mixed team ski cross, mixed team parallel giant slalom, women's team ski jumping and add longer distance ski mountaineering events.    If there was room on the schedule I would also expand curling to 12 teams in each event.   In total I would add around 20 events for a total of 136 events. Cyclocross-3 Ice climbing-4 Freeride-4 Speed skating-2 Ski jumping-1 Nordic combined-2 Mixed team ski cross-1 Mixed team parallel giant slalom-1 Ski mountaineering-2
    • Hey everyone , now that the Olympics are over just wanted to make an announcement that I'll be taking a break from posting on Totallympics for the most part, and watching sports. Mentally these games have broke me in so many ways, and I need time to reset. Not sure for how long, at least a week, but I'll be back for the Paralympics.   I thought taking time to reflect over the past week and a half, it would make Grondin's silver feel better, it didn't at all. I still think about it all the time and it hurts. Just upset, frustrated, and disappointed that he was a photo finish away from gold... again, and I'd trade half of our medals for the colour to be changed.    Not to mention Canada only won 21 medals, 5-7-9, which is our lowest total since Salt Lake City 2002 with less events, but whatever I got used to it half a week ago...
    • Otherwise the tournament has been excellent in ice hockey, and overall too. 😊
    • Overtime being 3-on-3 is such a bad rule, especially in a final.
    • NBC had a lovely special after the ceremony...even highlighted some non-USA athletes.  Perhaps a few Americans will know Klaebo's name now!  There was even a segment highlighting the Italian medallists, that this was a record year for them, too.   (Best of Milan Cortina, on Peacock, if you can access it.)
