:ITA secured +1 in women's competition. Before the last day :AZE:GRE:NOR:IRL:DEN:ALB:ISL:CRO:LAT:MDA:BEL:LTU:NED:EST:GEO all failed to qualify.

Battle for remaining 5 quotas:

:GBR can get 7 extra points

:POL can get 9 extra points

:GER can get 9 extra points

:FIN can get 10 extra points

:FRA can get 28 extra points

:HUN can get 24 extra points

:SWE can get 38 extra points

:CZE can get 34 extra points

:ISR can get 42 extra points

that all can interrupt the top6 (with most optimistic counting)

And here is the fictional top 10 standings if the last ladies event would end up according to the entry list weights:

:POL 98 points

:ITA 98 points

:GBR 98 points

:FRA 93 points

:GER 87 points

:ESP 85 points

----

:FIN 78 points

:SWE 75 points

:AZE 74 points (no chance)

:HUN 73 points

Silver for Stanulis  Sadly he won't even compete in Olympics. Even if Lithuania wins quota in Euros it will go to Didžbalis (famously disqualified for doping before London 2012) who is not even bothered to compete in E CH.

Why he's not going?

Because our federation decided to send A.Didžbalis and no one else can even try to replace him. Pretty much why our federation send only 5 guys to Euro Champs so there won't be possible for team quota and Didžbalis would qualify through rankings with "less drama".

Talking about corruption and prefential treatment, I thought that things don't happen in Europe... so unfair for every other Lithuanian weightlifter

I know, it's sad. This situation was happening for almost 20 years now in Lithuanian weightlifting, which pretty much stopped the progress of this sport in country. Plus those specially selected ones by federations always end up in doping scandals... Yet we still get to see some talents shining in some of the competitions while others chose powerlifting or kettlebell-lifting.. :(

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
