:yes...thanks .............. I was building castles in the sky thinking it will trickle down to the world championship list ( ie to India ) .......but from what you say that will mean 11 new nations will get one weightlifter each .....hope some of the oceanian weightlifters get a chance :d

If Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia are banned, then we may get second quota. We are third in line but someone below us might get ahead as majority of lifters from these 3 nations are in higher weight classes and our points are from lower weight classes. But still :fingers:

but what if the nation is banned kaz , rus and blr ?

What will that mean .................. ? ......they had banned BUL , they lost their place , surely if KAZ , RUS and BLR lose their ranking the whole ranking should be pushed up ?

If they follow the same path that was used in Bulgaria's case, then all of their points from qualification period would be removed and completly new rankings would be made. What an epic mess that would be!

but the calculations are going to be crazy ...............lets hope for the best ................... if we get quotas then we will need to be removed from the asian qualifers the cascading effect could be really vague ......................... they may simply say the cancelled quotas could again added to the unqualified list to prevent those issues ............

Also you remember IWF said there were 10 positives from 2008? So far they only reveal 7...

Well the main source for that was an Iranian news website which I translated here. they also said there is an Iranian among them which was wrong, so I say let's not fully trust Iranian sites, they suck when they translate something.
