Here's another idea: sprint climbing. Or rope climbing. It would be easy to train for, climbing is very popular everywhere, it would also fit into the military theme of the sport.

It would be interesting to see rope climbing back at the Games, it was part of the Games in the early days: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gymnastics_at_the_1896_Summer_Olympics_–_Men's_rope_climbing

Just throwing out a wild & crazy idea, but I'm thinking one-on-one tug'o'war.  :cheer:

UIPM has confirmed in a press release that riding will be dropped after Paris 2024.

Sounds like there is real concern internally that Modern Pentathlon will be removed from the Olympic program from 2028 onwards by the end of this year.

I feel that is more likely as the BBC article doesn’t have anyone that happy with the decision.

And they are quoting PETA, including their fully unconfirmed statement about cycling lol...

Never been impressed by ITG, but this is a new low.

This is what ATR was told by the UIPM’s treasurer.

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
