I can give extra points for good clips sometimes, but I never make discounts for that reason, even if the video is just the song playing with pictures of cats in the background.

Surely the best video ever has to be Croatia TISC 2016! Simple, just a band playing/singing and a large image of a random shirt at the back of the stage!

I agree the video shouldn´t be a criterium, otherwise Slovakia would have won this contest by a 100 points margin

Genre probably counts, as R&B songs (especially US-based or those that chart in the US) don't do generally well in this contest, as seen here.
