The feast of Sinterklaas celebrates the name day of Saint Nicholas on 6 December. The feast is celebrated annually with the giving of gifts on St. Nicholas' Eve (5 December) in the Netherlands and on the morning of 6 December, Saint Nicholas Day, in Belgium, Luxembourg and northern France (French Flanders, Lorraine and Artois). The tradition is also celebrated in territories of the former Dutch Empire, including Curaçao and Suriname.

In CZE/SVK the 5th december´s night the children cleanse their shoes and put them out in front of the door or under the windows, overnight the saint "Mikuláš" comes and put in good childrens shoes many sweets, candys and fruits. :d

Looks Good! My old kindergarten teacher did that for her classes every year to teach us about that tradition. (I was a big fan by the way) I’m curious as to how this differs from country to country or from house to house.
